Not sure if this may have already been discussed or if I am posting it in the correct area....
Its a combination of a few things discussed on PRC...

I was not aware of Premetheus before today...
I thought initially at first glance that it was a complete new movie... ( unrelated to any other prior movies) ... and that it may relate to artifacts , underground tunnels, maybe Stargates found on Earth ... maybe with a past historical race connection...
I cannot believe that the 1st Alien movie was done in 1979...
so this prequel may explain a few things...
Hope its as good as the trailers..

I remember it well...as I recapped it about 200x staying awake all night in the fetal position in the corner of my bed. ;D I was a bit too young to watch that then but it was worth it.

His best movie was BladeRunner. He does do sci-fi well so this will be worth a look.

It is an old NAVY tradition to name ships the same as a previous famous ship
Enterprise comes to mind as one of the most well known ships from the sailing vessel USS Enterprise (1775) to the current nuclear powered aircraft carrier, to the Sci Fi spaceships we all grew up with...
