"Crocodiles are one of the animals that don't stop growing until they die, and they can live for a long time. In Australia, nearly all of the old and huge ones were shot for their leather. Since they they have become protected in Australia they have been growing older again but not enough time has passed for the huge ones to emerge again. In a few decades we could have huge crocodiles again in Australia at least."

Question: which date is correct, 1957 or 1914? Either way, that is one huge croc l :o

That's one big ass croc. Judging by age of photo I would say 1914
Nothing the late Steve Irwin Couldn't Handle ;)
Joke's aside, Australian Megafauna is quite an interesting topic as there is proof of Aboriginal's knowing about these rather large creature's and hunting them. There is also a lot of proof these day's with modern non-biased research that Aboriginal's were quite the farmer which indicate's they were not the reason for the Mega Fuana to disappear off the face of the planet.
The weirdest aspect of Australian Megafuana is that when you look at some creature's one cannot help but think "Honey we shrunk the kids"
It's a great topic that does need expanding upon because Aussie Abo's and their Civ are way older than the Christian/Muslim event's which dominate our world...Oddly though they have their own creation story too LOL
