To get here, for me the regular link is still not working - Globat screen, and...............when I click "Forum" here, it goes back to the Globat "site is temporarily unavailable" screen??

Have we changed the site web address again??

Try clearing the browser cache or press (if on a Windows computer) Ctrl + F5 to force a reload from the site and not from the cache.

No, nothing changed on the forum or the site.

I keep getting a very strange layout, but I think it's my phone telling me it's about to poop out.

I didn't change a thing since yesterday (I don't even close the browser), so I'm sure nothing changed on the server side.

This is the address for this thread: http://www.thelivingmoon.com/forum/index.php?topic=10435.msg137804;topicseen#msg137804

Well, first off, at the page with that address, if I click on "Forum", it just brings up the Glob@t.com screen.

And, this is the address I get for this page, which is slightly different - http://www.thelivingmoon.com/forum/index.php?topic=10435.msg137805;topicseen#new    ( .......??? )  :)

I cannot get to the general forum from either of the two addresses!

Did you cleared the browser cache or used Ctrl + F5 to force a reload of the page? What browser are you using?

It's slightly different because you followed a different way to reach the thread and the last post has a different ID. The base address is the same

I need to get that mailing list finished this week  so this kind of info can be sent ASAP

That means that you deleted more than just the cache, that's why I asked you what browser you are using, to see how to do it in that browser.

It sounds like you cleared out ALL your history including saved passwords

There are ways to restore those depending on the browser

I save all my passwords etc on a flash drive i keep in the safe  My memory is not that good and computers crash

I am grateful, too.  What was the issue...?

Corrupted files in an FTP directory  The server does routine scans and when it finds one it lock down the website immediately to prevent damage and spreading to other users

When that happens you have to remove the files or upload a clean copy  Then it can take 24 to 48 hours to get them to rescan and reinstate the site.

That is one of the dangers of giving other members an FTP account  You have no control over what gets uploaded (or deleted in the case of the IGT group)  In this case it was hidden files that came from copies of John Lear's collection of Moon Image CD's. Virus scanners found  a bunch but missed 7 files

Fortunately paying extra for a Site Lock basic account gives you a printout of the infected files  Otherwise it would be a nightmare gouing through every file manually

Site Lock Pro plan monitors it actively anf fixes issues automatically but that costs 49.50 a month and really isn't necessary...  A little down time to save further damage is acceptable

But i need to close some old FTP access accounts

The CD's from John contain his entire moon photos and videos... will take some time to process   I would upload them to Media Fire but some are too big for that

All I had to do when my browser opened was to hit the refresh button and it re-loaded the forum  8) that was on seamonkey, firefox, and tor

OneDrive has free 100 gigabyte cloud deals for Samsung products.
Even if it's Microsoft, maybe it's uploading and downloading a little faster.
Had forgotten it all the time.
.

And thanks to all who have taken the trouble to get the website back online!
Many Thanks!

I have had no problems with the browser. Have on the mobile phone Chrome and Samsung browser and on the pc chrome.
The site was just there again. :)

Nice to know that there are ways of blocking potential problems

I am also glad that this site is operational again, since it is now my last means of online interaction which is not based on social media.

I acknowledge and take full responsibility for any and all pathological behaviour I have engaged in while using Pegasus.  I am grateful for this site's continued existence.  I offer Zorgon what little humility I have.
