I have three email programs. Two are fine re spam, my telco one fills up with spam to the tune of 150 a day and it seems to be doubling by the second.
I highlight them, block sender and delete. It doesn't make an ounce of difference so Zorgon or anyone else what can I apply to this email address to make them disappear.
Any help would be more than appreciated. My patience has disappeared now.

biggs, do you need 3 email programs? Seems if the one is being spammed to death, i would contact the ISP about it, save my contacts, and delete it.
Perhaps someone else can help you...

Maybe you could try using a filter(s), which would shunt the garbage into a folder you create to hold it, or straight to the Trash.

All email programs I know have a way of filtering messages and move them automatically to a spam folder. Some can even pretend to be the email server and send a "no such account" to the sender.

Well, the source(s) of much of the spam we get is a result what we click on - on the net! There are so many different entities that are hooked in to websites, just waiting to get our contact info! One of the tools that has really helped me is a free software "blocker" called "Ghostery". When I go to a website, it even shows me a list of the blocked sites. ................. https://www.ghostery.com
Also, the primary search engine I use is DuckDuckGo - DuckDuckGo is an Internet search engine that emphasizes protecting searchers' privacy and avoiding the filter bubble of personalized search results. DuckDuckGo distinguishes itself from other search engines by not profiling its users and by deliberately showing all users the same search results for a given search term. Of course, when one clicks on a link from the DuckDuckGo search, then the DuckDuck protection goes away!! .......... https://duckduckgo.com
Of course, the ISP (Internet Service Provider) that each of us uses has much to do with our incoming spam....getting through to us in our email. As said above, the better ISP's do automatic spam blocking, as well as giving us e-mail option choices for what is to be blocked. One thing for sure, many of the internet adds, especially those with racy pics, are set to specifically hook on to our contact info.....for spamming......, if they are clicked on.
It is my "guess" that for your "telco email program" (your worst for spam) is probably the one you use/need the most. I would contact them and discuss this problem, and ask them for help in making this better, if they want to keep your business!!

How can those sites know our email address to send us spam? ???
One thing that may happen is that the email address is part of a "leaked database", like Adobe's some years ago. To see if your email address was part of any of the publicly available databases of leaked email addresses you can use have i been pwned? (https://haveibeenpwned.com/). Four of my email addresses (I have 12 ;D) appear in there, in several "leaks".
Edited to add that if someone gets access to Pegasus database they can only get a list of email addresses, the passwords are secure. :)

Thank you rdunk I rang Telstra, one of Oz's biggest telcos and they asked me to let them have access to my computer, which I did, and its getting a lot better now; thanks guys.
