Title: It's Probably Just a fibrous contaminant on the scan but....
Post by: Canine on November 01, 2018, 09:09:44 PM
If an inflatable tube structure on the moon were to deflate and lay there for god knows how long, I struggle to see how it wouldn't look exactly like this. If contamination it should appear even brighter in contrast to the darker areas and should not appear contiguous as it does.

In fact I have one theory that says anomalies like these are the reason for such intentional contamination - If you cant get rid of all the tubes you gotta provide them with a cover story and poison the well. I have included examples of some in the pic.

That is also why people find 'structures' in the lunar black sky (looking at you bara and hoagland) - overlays were used to mess with the mind and these were applied to the whole image, and are betrayed by modern image analysis tools.

It would be darker when in the shadow.

If it's a translucent fibre then it will let some of the light used by the scanning process through, and it will not look opaque, so darker areas behind it will make it slightly darker than on the rest.
I don't understand what you mean that it should not appear as contiguous as it does.

Modern image analysis tools are limited to the data we give them, so their results depend on the quality of the scans of those old, chemical photos. When working with chemical photos they do not use "overlays", they draw directly on the negative (or positive, according to the method used), and, specially on black and white photos, it's not possible to notice what was on the original photo and what was added. I saw my sister do that many times.

PS: in September I looked (carefully) at more than 67,600 scanned images, and in the last two years the company where I work has been scanning various types of documents, close to a total of 600,000 scanned images. Some years ago we scanned 1,400,000 images. Only last week I personally scanned 2,746 pages, so I can recognise when there was something on the scanner, like in the cases in the image you posted.

That looks more like something that affected the emulsion, as if the photo was in contact with something while drying.

look at how equal all the big craters are.and how spaced they are.im reaching here but they look like exploratory mining survey dig sites.my guess is nazis.my current research into germany is leaning heavily toward this as fact and not fiction.

You need to resurrect some of your work and repost it, sarge, most of it is buried and forgotten...

Been thinking about it, looking at some new stuff. Just didn't think anyone cared anymore.
