I saw a movie today about a young woman surfer who was attacked by a shark in 2003 and has since then done amazing and triumphant living. Not only facing life and the ocean again after the attack, but doing so with (now) one arm. This woman has come through with unbelievable tenacity and is truly an inspiration for any human being. Bethany Hamilton is a real heroic and beautiful lady. Her story is one that carries a huge amount of inspiration. The inner strength that Bethany already had, was brought to bare on her life.
Starting at the age of 13 this brave and wonderful young woman's life took a turn toward hardship.

I felt this was and still is a great and inspiring story. Bethany is now a mother and has done well in the surfing world,
truthfully playing great notes in the song of her life. A wonderful inspiration she is!
I thought this may be a good thing for us all to see! If you know of a tale of triumphant living please post it here!
I remember her case. A truly remarkable girl (and now a woman) showing how humans can really do almost whatever they want when they put their minds to it.
I was moved by the great patience this man had, his ability to forgive people and remain a part of society. To take on as much as he could to help himself through a life filled with confrontation both external and internal. From an early age of about 5, he started down a road of life a great many of the physically normal people in this world could not have undertaken. As a child he faced ridicule from other children, yet even then persisted and remained in public school. This is one tough human being. Through much of his life he overcame the obstacles of living with his deformities. Medical treatments and the lack of availability to the general public or poor, was another hurtle he had to deal with.
Anyway I was much inspired by Mr. Joseph Merrick another one of my favorite heroic people. :)

That's an excellent example of people that do not give up. I can only imagine what he went through his short life.
Sometimes, the most difficult thing to do is just live like a normal person.
