John Lear contacted me via Facebook Messenger saying Ron Schmidt kept a copy of Paint Shop 5 for him on here yet I cant find it anywhere. Do any of you have any clue if its on here ?
Thanks
I don't remember seeing it.
A quick look at the files in the server didn't show it either.
Maybe he's seeing 'things' again 🙄
Paint Shop Pro 5 is a very old program, maybe it can be found on some abandonware site.
Because of copyright laws I think it's better for me not to post any link. :)
He can get a free trial of version 2020, or on EBay for around $4.00 (used)
Yeah hes messaged me like 3 times now about it Not sure whats going on there.
He said it has to be Paint Shop Pro 5 for Windows 10. He doesn't like the new version I guess he may have got a new computer from what Im seeing Paint Shop Pro 5 wont work on WIndows 10. He claims Zogon had a copy on here I looked and didn't see it anywhere.
Thanks for all your help

It is a very good possibility, Sarge, for JL often states he has dementia, and I don't recall anything about paint shop pro 5 or of there being a copy filed back for JL.
I have been avoiding Facebook of late, too much crap since the corona cooties started...

If it's a 64 bit version of Windows then it's difficult to run old 16 bit programs, that may be the problem.
Too bad Zorgon isn't around anymore to hold his hand.... :(

We already knew where that was headed, Sarge 8)
John Lear has now moved and he had this working but now its not working I realize this is I think 16 Bit on a 64 Bit platform.. Is there any way to convert the 2 ?? I would think if it was the opposite trying to run a 64 bit on 16 bit there would be trouble.
Any suggestions would be helpful.
The only way of running a 16 bit application on a 64 bit OS is by using a virtual machine, as 64 bit systems do not run 16 bit programs.
If he's running windows 10 he could right click on the program icon and select compatibility:

But that doesn't always work, I know!
And it can cause other unrelated problems.
