Title: New HIV Drug - Truvada
Post by: dijordinchen12 on May 08, 2012, 11:32:21 PM
Does the FDA really have a clue for HIV/AIDS? I think not..
BUT..
I do believe the Chinese do..they have a magical cucumber that has yet to be exported by CIA to US..

The Food and Drug Administration said Tuesday that Gilead Sciences' Truvada appears to be safe and effective for HIV prevention. It concluded that taking the pill daily could spare patients "infection with a serious and life-threatening illness that requires lifelong treatment."

What is the name of the China "magical cure cucumber" - for HIV / AIDS?

;D I know this thought is "crude", but................. the Chinese don't want babies anyway, so, they may have come up with a "required" special use for the cucumber, that would most definitely prevent HIV!!! And, in that vein of thought, I guess the American cucumber would work just as well!!

And since that is definitely in the area of "home remedy", that is all I am going to say about that!!  ;)

Excellent analogy..point taken..I have as much faith in the FDA as I do the CDC , EPA & NASA..

Not saying much at all.  [grin]  All the alphabet orgs are highly probable of being a detriment as opposed to a benefit.

The FDA has track record of catering to pharmaceutical companies.  I've lost track of how many drugs have been pushed through and then taken off the market because people were dying.  Inapsine comes to mind.  Probably because of the night a patient got inapsine, coded, and the codw was repeatedly called and cancelled while the family stood in the hallway and argued about what to do.  The patient died, which was in keeping with her originally stated wishes, but not from her treatable condition that brought her to the hospital.
