Chinese Physicists Smash Distance Record For Teleportation (http://www.technologyreview.com/blog/arxiv/files/86140/Free%20space.png)
QuoteThe ability to teleport photons through 100 kilometres of free space opens the way for satellite-based quantum communications, say researchers
QuoteTeleportation is the extraordinary ability to transfer objects from one location to another without travelling through the intervening space.
The idea is not that the physical object is teleported but the information that describes it. This can then be applied to a similar object in a new location which effectively takes on the new identity.
And it is by no means science fiction. Physicists have been teleporting photons since 1997 and the technique is now standard in optics laboratories all over the world.
The phenomenon that makes this possible is known as quantum entanglement, the deep and mysterious link that occurs when two quantum objects share the same existence and yet are separated in space.
Teleportation turns out to be extremely useful. Because teleported information does not travel through the intervening space, it cannot be secretly accessed by an eavesdropper.
For that reason, teleportation is the enabling technology behind quantum cryptography, a way of sending information with close-to-perfect secrecy.

Hrrmph. I think They co-opted the term "teleport." If the original object does not make the jump, it's NOT teleportation. I mean it's cool and all to have information moving in this fashion. But it's not teleportation!
Thanks for the article, zorg. [smile] Even if I think the title is misleading.
Nothing actually exists, except as a local memory within a series of memory fields.
TIME is flowing in all directions at once.
To re-locate a memory field will require a device that can deflect the flow of time in whatever desired orientation so that the desired memory field re-locates relative to the deflection of time about it in the desired oriention vector.
The deflection will be in one direction of a phase conjugate flow.
It is best to think of any memory field as a bubble, and the bubble stays still within the dominant field it is within, but the bubble is spherical because it is created by inputs and outputs in all directions at once about it's spherical created shaped.
This is how planets etc are created, and why they are spherical in shape, the bulge at the equator and flattening at the poles is to do with the magnetic overall field that it is within.
Thus this planet is not MOVING as ASSUMED, it is re-locating as a memory bubble at the dictate of ever increasing memory fields.
You reader are within Your own memory bubble, and that INFORMATION will be able to be re-located in time by the modulation of the omni directional phase conjugate time flows, it's just a matter of scale whether an atom or a planet is re-located, and of course having a device that can deflect time about itself.

"Hrrmph. I think They co-opted the term "teleport." If the original object does not make the jump, it's NOT teleportation
But.... the " information" that does get " entangled" is identical to the origianl and does end up at point B...remember its identical.... to what it was at point A..........and it instantly makes the " jump".... so what you are saying is that this does not qualify as " teleportation" then?"
I think that we are running into a problem of semantics here. And for once we are being shown how it can be done where before " teleportation" was only in the minds of science fiction writers. Now when science shows you how it is done precisely.... suddenly it doesn't count? sorry but...... huh????? Linda
LOL! It's only teleportation if I can walk from one room into another a few miles away. [grin]
I'm just being nitpicky here. The question that is important is whether My consciousness remains intact as They move My information from here to there... If so, teleportation. If not, it does not qualify. I guess We'll know in a while.
Maybe its an uncomfortable idea.... having your every atom re-established somewhere else.... I sure would worry if I was the same person at point B that I was at point A..... and then what happens with the original.... still at point A..... two of them ( you) existing then. THAT boggles my mind.... so I agree with you.... I would not want that to " count" somehow....
Better that a " force field" of some sort " envelopes" the original you and carries you safely through that process to the other side.... so when you walk out.... thousands of miles away.... it really is YOU.... un changed and not " messed with" in anyway..... Yes.... I prefer that way too Amy. Technically is that just a refinement of the original " quantum entanglement" experiments happening now? (As in the movie Prestige about Tesla..... How many top hats will pile up in the woods while all of this is going on?.... No.... there has to be a better system involved.....
And I agree that some will know " in a while". And I also propose that there are some that know now. Linda
Well, I am of the opinion that They already have true teleportation - hidden, of course.
Rumors only...
I am curious Amy.... when you say " They..." who do YOU think has this technology already? Linda
Gosh, Linda... I have this pit of darkness I encounter when trying to see that. Deep black, I am sure it is.
The secret space program is the highest suspect on My list.
When you say " Space Command" are you speaking about the " Group" that Zorgon has been mentioning for so long? Linda
Well, I didn't say "Space Command..." Just "secret space program." And yes, that secret space program would be one and the same.
The whole idea of teleportation is a misnomer.
To relocate a person would be monumental in the context of amazing science, and gee whiz technology, but heres the real reason to teleport someone:
By teleporting, a person would become as small as the infinitely tiny singularities that make up our universe. Then when reassembling, that persons's mind would be privy to every thought or bit of knowledge that ever existed, and a years long effort to teleport a volunteer would be no problem as the information that awaits us is worth the effort.
That person would be the holy grail for humanity, and would solve every problem ever with one thought.
Sound like anyone we know of?

these are the same guys who banned
Back to the Future,,
it dont make sence??
Trumped already...race is on.
European team bests Chinese record at teleporting distance (Corrected)
Quote(Phys.org) -- A European team of physicists has bested the record set by a team of Chinese researchers last month for distance in teleporting quantum bits (qubits). Where the Chinese team accomplished their feat by teleporting photons across a lake, the European team did so by performing the same feat across the ocean between two islands off the coast of Africa. It was apparently no easy feat as the team describes in the paper they've written and uploaded to the preprint server arXiv; they had so much foul weather to contend with that their experiment took nearly a year to complete. The record breaking distance by the Chinese team was close to 100 kilometers. The Europeans bested that mark by almost fifty kilometers, setting up a possible rivalry between the two teams to see which might be the first to successfully teleport a qubit to an orbiting satellite.

Thats an interesting concept there Littleenki.....

And my personal answer to that is..... yes, it does. Past and present.
But I don't think that I have ever seen anyone put it quite so well
"Then when reassembling, that persons's mind would be privy to every thought or bit of knowledge that ever existed,"
I guess one would have to be careful about the people they migth pick to undergo this process.
And at the same time as " Morgan" once so seriously said....... " There is a price to pay...... "
Linda
Thanks Linda, Thats what I thought when the movie Contact came out, and Jodie Foster just had to live with not only what she saw, but what she had learned...the secret to humanity.
Of course, thats also what made the Star Trek guys so smart, right?
All those transporter trips!
Except for the red shirt fellows, they never came back anyways.
LOL!
Morgan was right, as it would be a monumental cross to bear, for sure!
He certainly was the right pick for the job, though, a special person, indeed!
Cheers!
