Title: Gold & Silver

Buy it and protect yourselves if you're not on the program already, while you still can.   You have been warned.

You're a pretty sharp guy Ron.  I'm not talking about scrap here.  If you're not aware of what is happening (and has happened over the last century) to the purchasing power of the $U.S. (and by association all fiat currencies) on the eve of imminent and massive "QE3" (or global stock markets collapse, a deflationary global depression ensues, etc...) then I'm not going to be of any help.  Friday's market trading was a shot across the bow.  Did you know that all fiat currencies throughout history have gone to zero in terms of their purchasing power?  Every single one.  Devaluation is guaranteed 100%.  Look into what the BRICS are doing to completely circumvent use of the $U.S. as a mechanism of settlement and how Iran has already engineered an alternative SWIFT network through which they can sell oil and facilitate commerce with said BRICS nations.  China and Japan have agreed to trade in Yuan/Yen directly.  Look at the DOW:gold ratio over the last decade in terms of real purchasing power of those "dollar" values.   Real inflation is running around 10%/year and increasing despite the doctored statistics the Reich publishes.  The days of the petrodollar as global reserve currency are numbered and all fiat currencies globally are tied to it.   I could go on and on but I'm not here to convince anyone of anything.  Keep all your "money" in a JP Morgan account if that's what you feel comfortable with.  Good luck.

So goading you into expanding on your OP won't work huh?  Oh well.

All I care about at the moment is to get the house paid in full before the money is worthless. So its time to liquidate all that stuff I have been hoarding and do that.

And yeah, my family already went through all that back home in Hamburg

how ya gonna pay your taxes, which never go away even when the house is paid for?  if you don't pay your taxes, they can still foreclose on your home.  which means, you don't really own your house.  might as well be renting and let the landlord pay the mortgage and fix the broken stuff, cause you'd lose your house either way when the money went kaput.

i say, best solution, learn to be a nomad lol

the nevada desert caravan. lol prc members will join.  you just need to map out a route and have stockpiles in the caves along the way. a book on nevada desert edibles, snake bite, scorpion bite kits, medical kits, music, a portable satellite that can run a lap top (errm if there's a public channel that's free anyway), a solar panel set up that can run a water from air generator, then we'd all just move from cave to cave, resting at each stockpile.  oh and we'd need some dogs to protect the stockpiles.  say about 50 or so doberman pinchers should do it. lol

ALTERNATIVELY, we could have a caravan of boats that follow each other up and down the coast line.  have converters that turn salt water into fresh water, water from air thingy, solar panel set ups etc.  fish for food.  or we could all pitch in for one big boat with all the same amenities and lots of bedrooms.  would need a way to defend it though.  i'm thinking there's practically nowhere on the planet at this point, that people could go and thrive under the current system, if it completely tanked.

oh oh, i know what to do.  everyone get together and buy an oil well on someone else's continent, since our inglorious leaders don't seem to like us anymore, and then when the money goes flat like a pancake, we could pay them in oil.

tax man: pay up or move out.
homeowner: barrel of oil, okay?

what's he gonna say, since the money has no value, not even to him.

tax man: pay up or move out.
homeowner:  how'd you pay your taxes?

;D

we need to think about this carefully.  if everyone paid in gold and silver, pretty soon it wouldnt be worth anything either.  especially if the rumor that china is sitting on more gold than has been known to exist in written history is true ,  we'd need some commodity that will be sure to be in demand, eco friendly, non toxic and non threatening to the other big wigs that want to own everything and everyone,  everywhere.  talk about power trips.

eek, now i really got it.  a tax free org. that isn't religious, so it isn't blown up by hoardes of angry anti-religious people. lol buy a nice big plot of land and register it as a tax free org, that provides some kind of commodity to the marketplace as a green energy type of service. then we can all move there and avoid most of the problems ( i say "most" because when things get all crunchy around the edges, almost any excuse can be concocted to take your stuff)

Glad I started a bit of a discussion anyway.

I think Zorgon and others already know what is going on and this is not just about protecting "monetary" wealth but preparing for our world to change profoundly in most of our lifetimes.  Best regards and luck to all.  Thanks for your comments.

Thousands of years of human history, and I, beg to differ.

Taxes I will pay with government money :P  And that works because back in Germany when it cost 10,000 marks for a loaf of bread, the money issues daily from the government matched the value of the inflation.  So I expect my union pension (which I just filed for 5 years early) my Canada pension (maxed out before I moved here) and the US pension to cover taxes :P

I have that covered as well  and we have the necessary equipment to handle 60 people in comfort. This is my Nomad Package

I have been out in the Nevada desert for years  I have yet to see a snake... I saw one small scorpion in the city on a porch and one tarantula under a trailer I was changing a wheel on at John's gold mine.  Those critters are not a real problem out here. They avoid you as much as you avoid them unless you stick your hand into a hole. Black widow a lot  in wood piles but easy to control  Recluse can be bad... never saw one yet either :D

Desert is full of free food.. Prickly pear cactus, tamarin (sp?)and Yucca root can even be bought at the grocery store. :D

HOWEVER  it is HOT out here  yesterday we had 110 in the sahde under my tree and I got a little heat stroke. Today its back to 92 (looks like the chemtrail planes were busy :P )

And its not even July yet  :o

Buy it with what...  My silver hair?  [grin]

Well you are a special case :P You don't see the need for money so you don't need gold :P

But for those who want gold I can tell you were to get it :D

At today's prices you don't need to get much to make it worth your while

#1 Platinum

Old catalytic converters.  Many crooks are ripping them off from cars to sell as scrap for platinum recovery. Not a good idea :P  BUT if you have any old cars around you can get $200-300 for an old cat on ebay

#2 Electronic Scrap

There is Gold in them thar computers  LOTS of it.  Take a look at your telephone jack. The four wires in the jack, and the four little wires in the plug... they look yellow :D  because they are GOLD

See all the yellow on computer parts, pins and boards?

Yup that be GOLD

#3 Panning

Back in the seventies I know university students who went to Alaska for a few weeks vacation to pan for gold on the Fraser River...  They found enough nuggets to pay a years tuition. At today's gold price it is a lot more worth the time (This is an activity for the younger ones though :P)

#4 Metal Detector Specimen Mining.

While a good metal detector will find gold and silver coins and jewelry on beaches or where ever people congregate... you can also use it to go over old abandoned mine dumps to find specimens of gold missed by the miners

In the early days mining was by hand and inefficient so lots of gold eneded up in the dumps. In fact one guy acquired the rights to the tailing pile at Eureka Ontario Canada, the first gold strike.  The rights were $36.00 to file the claim. He then aranges to have the dump, already crushed rock, hauled to a modern crusher... and netted 48 million in gold (at 70's prices)

#5 Hard Rock mining

If you have some spare energy... grab a pick and shovel There are a lot of gold viens in the high desert, not enough to be commercially viable but a few hours of heavy labor and you will get results

And besides, some of the other minerals you dig up like the quartz crystals have just as much value as that gols and easier to find :D

Leaching Gold

One way is to use a potassium cyanide solution to remove gold from plated objects. While this works very well, it is HIGHLY TOXIC and NOT recommended for the average person. It also requires permits to buy the chemical

Another way is "electrolysis gold recovery"  This works for silver and platinum etc as well It is basically reversing the process of electroplating and can use a car battery. The precious metal is stripped off the object and collected on a rod

Easiest way is to see you scrap to a REFINERY

Do NOT sell it to gold brokers they will rip you off. A reliable refinery will give you 90% or more return. (there is always some loss in the process and they do have to make a living.)

I have two I recommend

Midwest Refineries LLC
http://www.midwestrefineries.com/gold.htm

They have no minimum order. Family owned and operated since 1939. They have no processing fees and just take 5% so they pay out 95% of the days value when they process your order.

Website lists what they take...

123 Precious Metal Refining, LLC
http://www.123preciousmetal.com/

These guys will process electronic scrap and plated scrap (there are quantity limits here)
QuoteWe do not refine or accept materials from outside the USA.
We also do not accept Catalytic Converters.

Midwest will take orders outside the US

So you can get the gold scrap back in cash OR gold (bullion... wire and sheet for jewelers... etc)

I had some I was going to send in December but waited... In Dec gold was $1889.00 an ounce and today its down to $1621.20

looks like it dropped a lot in May

In 1974 I was working at the Catalina Stables taking tourists out on the " hour trail" I hope some of you out there might remember that if you ever got a chance to visit Catalina. I worked for something like a hundred plus a week and my horses board was paid ( course I was using him so it should have been paid... he worked hard for his hay....) Anyway.... since George had a good job at the Island company I exchanged my paycheck every week for a single gold coin... at the local coin shop. It was pretty close to an even exchange then.....

Now I figure an ounce of gold for a weeks worth of riding ( which I wanted to do anyway... I kept being amazed that they would pay me for doing something I loved so much.)........ but I figure now.... that was probably the highest paying weekly wage that I will ever see once you translate the value of those coins NOW.

It may go up, it may go down... but in the long run.... it was worth going to to the gold.

John told me about the gold mine that he had when we talked so many years ago.... I hope that he still has it.
