Looks like the powers that be have now officially announced that they will be snooping on our emails. :(
The Government has announced legislation which will lead to a huge expansion of surveillance powers of communications on the internet and mobile phones.
The Communications and Data Bill will allow the police and security services to keep track of who is calling who on mobile phones, the email addresses of all correspondents, and the personal IDs of people chatting on social networking sites.

If we have the right government in place in the United States, I don't think such outright violation of the privacy rights of the people will be allowed. Totally unconstitutional!!
Otherwise, you just stop it by getting off of the cell phone, and off of the internet! Not such a big deal, but I would fight such a measure with the leaders of government.
One of the biggest problems the U.S. has right this minute, is that so many of the administrative government functions now have some type of "swat team" capabilities, which is also absolutely against the normal local and state law enforcement laws that exist. These too must be eliminated!!! Much in recent news about some of their "overreaching" into general private lives.
