Title: melancholy
Post by: Shasta56 on June 29, 2012, 03:23:42 AM
Feeling especially melancholy tonight.  My pillow pet, Osiris passed in his sleep a week ago tonight,  the record heat seems set in place, so many of my usual go-to places are aflame,  my patient is dying, unnecessarily and I can't get anyone to give a damn.  It's time to get a CD player and some LeeAnne Womack music.  Maybe some Sawyer Brown and Kentucky Headhuntets if I can find it.  I may even opt for attending Mass, just for the music.

I am sorry for your Loss Shasta, have been there myself several times. "Is that the fine feline specimen I see in your avatar then?" If it is , looks as if it was a fine friend indeed.
Heal and remember, Osiris lives with in you always, regaurdless of the realities of being alone , at the moment, it will be all good for the most part, just don't hover over such despare and languish my friend.

Awwww  :(

Somebody deliver Shasta a new baby kitty to jump around and demand attention!  ;D

That's the best cure ya know!

I have been delaying starting a melancholy music thread, but since we all pass through these times, I think I will put one together.

"You may run from sorrow as I have... sorrow WILL find you."

you need to play wow. make yourself a druid, feral spec, so you can look like this:

and get a kitty pet, like this:
(turn up sound so you can hear how cute it is)

that'll help a tiny bit. not the same as the real thing, but they are very cute.

you can even get a cat mount, called a dawnsaber. :D

Shasta, for most of us, pets pretty much become "family"! And that would not be just any part of the family, but the part of the family that touches our hearts, almost the same as do our kids.

The commonality that pets and kids have, is that they are both totally dependent upon our help and attention.  And because of that, pets just become a real and significant part of our lives.

What is really significant about our pets is, they give to us (what seems to be) "unconditional love" in return. They are just there for us, when we let them.

I have wept more than once in my life, both as a child, and in my adult life, over the loss of pets. So, many of us here can empathize with you and your loss at this time.

And with all of that said, focus on your good memories of Osiris being with you, and his obvious care for you!! When you are ready, I would expect another "pet" will come into your life, to start things anew!!

I know what it is to lose a member of One's family, and My heart goes out to You.  Some times can be very rough, and I'm sorry so much is hitting all at once.  I hope a cyberhug helps:

[warm cool hugs!]

Shasta, my and Christines hearts go out to you for your loss, friend!

Breathe deeply and take a moment to recenter, and find the fun and love that Osiris brought, and lock that away in a special place forever.

Im dont have any kitties now, but have had some pretty cool ones in the past, and Im sure you will have another little sweetheart to fill the void, and try to find a bit of balance this week, with your heart and your world.

Hugs of sympathy from afar, feeling like they are right next to you, Patty.

Thank you everyone, for all the kind words and thoughts.  The fine feline of my avatar is still with us.  Her name is Shasta, after Mt. Shasta.  Osiris had been with us for fourteen years.  We lost his brother, Yoda, back in November.  I still have a baker's dozen oc rescue kitties with me.  Plus my feral friends, and the raccoons and the skunk.  I think everything has just really piled up lately.  Especially having one on one care of a dying man who I can't get the people in charge to give a crap about.  My hands are pretty much tied since I'm not a    doctor.
