Post by: sky otter on July 05, 2012, 12:58:53 AM

just went to see if any blackberries were black yet.. and yummmm ate my way along as i took pics...
the best part about putting blackberries in with the flowers is i can snack my way around while collecting and scattering seeds..and these are thornless  upright canes.. so even better

The weeds are thriving at my house.  We're  starting to cool off a bit, and got a little bit of rain.  The blackberries took me back to Hanna, many years ago, with Aunt Bess and her rasberry canes.   If the smoke and fires will ever clear out, I want to make a visit up to Hanna.  I'd like to take my husband up there.

Blackberry sauce over garlic ice cream?   :-\

Actually...  I have had garlic ice cream, and found it quite delightful!  A wee bit o' raspberry sauce would be quite nice.

I'm quite fond of garlic, and I like rasberry chipotle sauce, but I'm still not sure about garlic ice cream.  I think I'll be a coward and stick with with chocolate.

My blackberries raspberries and yellow raspberries are not doing so well in this heat. All I can do is keep them alive till end of august and see if I can get them to revive.  Strawberries too... what few are coming out are being eaten by bugs.  I will just have to build that greenhouse this fall if I want ant produce :(

Don't really want to spray but looks like I have no choice... our yard is the greenest oasis around here LOL
