Hey there,
I just wanted to share this light hearted fun with you all!
I was in my back yard where I observed these flying saucers,
they seemed to grow larger with every day that went by!
I decided to take some pics, as you all know....
Pics or it did not happen! Ok, so bts gets her camera
and starts snapping pics.
I am sure no one will think much of my flying saucer pics,
even though I took them myself.
Yes, I am prepared to withstand all derision, and rest assured,
the more I am derided, the more determined I will be to present
my case. I saw them, and yes, I have snapped pics of flying saucers
in my back 40.
Pics or it did not happen...ok under the right conditons, I snapped this
shot, and am posting it ....here you go!

See? See that large yellow saucer there? And then I got this pic...several of them
all in one local area!
Ok, yes by now you know from the photos above I knew too well
what I was seeing, yes yes, those flying saucer squash!

This evening as I was in the kitchen cooking up something ,
I thought it was time to share my flying saucer pics for a little fun.
Cheers my freinds, even squash have a sense of humor!

Oh, these Gourdgeous saucers dont stand a chance against
all of this steaming and fryin and stirring! ;)
Its doubtful even the seeds would survive!
I sense Their power over Me. My stomach is rumbling and water doth drip from My lips! Powerful buggers, They are!
Yes, I think the steam, butter, salt and pepper are in order to eliminate the power They have. [smile]
LOVELY saucers, BTS! Just lovely!

I sense Their power over Me.
Am, same here! For days I observed them, and pondered that
if I just let them be a day or two more, imagine how much
larger they might grow! I was drawn to them, and then....
I reached in and picked them out of the sky!
Well, thats a little exaggeration, actually I snatched them
from below. Just a little squash tale. ;)
Might I recommend a good wine to go with those saucers? -

Literally translated, "Le Cigare Volant" is French for The Flying Cigar. Or euphemistically speaking, The Flying Saucer.
Pretty wacky either way you cut it. The story behind this name is even wackier.
Bonny Doon's irreverent owner, Randall Graham, was an original California Rhone Ranger. One of those pioneer winemakers to bring the wines of France's Rhone Valley stateside. Le Cigare Volant's maiden voyage was in 1984.
This particular wine is Graham's tribute to Rhone Valley's Chateauneuf-du-Pape. A blend of grenache, syrah, mourvedre, viognier, cinsault and carignane.
The name of the wine is his overseas potshot at those CdP winemakers, who in 1954, with very serious and grave intentions, had an ordinance passed to prevent Flying Cigars/Saucers from flying over or landing near their vineyards.
Furthermore, the penalty for infringing upon this ordinance requires that any Flying Cigars/Saucers be impounded!
Makes sense to me. You?
Le Cigare Volant's label does a particularly nice job of illustrating a Flying Cigar/Saucer abducting a CdP winemaker and his bullock cart.
...
Some friends bought me a bottle and I have to say it was quite good! 8)
How dry is it? Not fond of cabernet sounvignon and other particularly dry wines. Prefer red wines with a bit of fruitiness. And a good burgundy. [grin]

Thank you bts~ :-*
I did have to test these and I think they are solar powered. They must have a very good conversion reactor inside.
If you can cut one open and get all the secrets out, maybe we can reverse engineer it!
Deuem
My husband thought he saw a UFO in the neighbor's back forty last night. I had to explain that it was a bug zapper and the Christmas lights that they leave up all year.

Oh, yes indeed!
Impound all incoming saucers! ;D
I myself have seen the wine, but have not partaken as of yet!
However, A51 this is an excellent idea, and I thank you.
If my gardening efforts should be so successful this year,
I plan to have a little harvest dinner at the end of summer,
and this wine will most assuredly be on the table!
Cheers!

Santa Cruz restaurant Le Cigare Volant — formerly known as Cellar Door Cafe — hired a new chef and changed its name earlier this year. It was a big overhaul for the eatery at Bonny Doon's downtown tasting room.
Now, Randall Grahm is changing things up again, on the wine side. The restaurant has announced that it now has a special Vins de Terroir section, wherein Grahm has organized wines from around the world according to the soil types from which they derive. From the release: "
Grahm himself has selected the wines – predominantly farmed by organic and biodynamic methods – which he believes are particularly clear illustrations of distinctive terroirs. A brief discussion of on the vinous characteristics of wines made from unique soil types is provided, and a rotating flight of wines by the glass from a particular soil type is featured weekly."
