Yep. We honestly have absolutely no real idea about our history. It's the two steps that they always take, for maintaining a conspiracy.
a} Give the public a coherent narrative, even if everyone involved knows, deep down, that it is BS.
b} Bury enough of the real truth, that an alternative coherent narrative, will not be able to form. You don't need to bury all of it, and you won't be able to; all you need to do, is make sure that there isn't enough left, to be able to produce a coherent story.
Most people need an intact story. They won't accept fragments. It doesn't matter if the intact story is less plausible than the fragments; the fact that it is a whole story, is what people need.
