Praying for rain: The Iranian president says the country's low rainfall trend is partly the result of its enemies destroying the cloudsQuote'Today our country is moving towards drought, which is partly unintentional due to industry and partly intentional, as a result of the enemy destroying the clouds moving towards our country and this is a war that Iran is going to overcome,' said Mr Ahmadinejad in a speech in the Caspian Sea city of Gonbad-e Kavus to mark its registration as a Unesco World Heritage site.
Although Iran is recognized as having one of the world's driest climates, the comments were the latest in a series of bizarre allegations of a Western conspiracy to turn the shortage into a major crisis.
QuoteIn July, Hassan Mousavi, head of Iran's cultural heritage organization and one of Mr Ahmadinejad's vice-presidents, urged meteorological experts to investigate the possibility that the west was engineering a draught in southern Iran, traditionally one of the country's most parched regions.
'I feel that the world arrogance and colonization (Iranian official code language for the US and its allies) by using their technologies, are affecting the environmental situation in Iran,' he said.

Have scientists discovered how to create downpours in the desert?
By Daily Mail ReporterMaybe it was Iran's neighbors that stole their rain :P
Technology created 50 rainstorms in Abu Dhabi's Al Ain region last yearQuoteFor centuries people living in the Middle East have dreamed of turning the sandy desert into land fit for growing crops with fresh water on tap.
Now that holy grail is a step closer after scientists employed by the ruler of Abu Dhabi claim to have generated a series of downpours.
Fifty rainstorms were created last year in the state's eastern Al Ain region using technology designed to control the weather.

Dry as dust: The sand dunes of the United Arab Emirates, which sees no rain at all for months. Now a secret project has brought storms to Abu Dhabi(http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2011/01/02/article-0-0CA0EB73000005DC-441_634x369.jpg)
Plan: Scientists are attempting to make clouds in the desert to give man control over the weatherQuoteMost of the storms were at the height of the summer in July and August when there is no rain at all.
People living in Abu Dhabi were baffled by the rainfall which sometimes turned into hail and included gales and lightening.
The scientists have been working secretly for United Arab Emirates president Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
They have been using giant ionisers, shaped like stripped down lampshades on steel poles, to generate fields of negatively charged particles.
These promote cloud formation and researchers hoped they could then produce rain.
In a confidential company video, the founder of the Swiss company in charge of the project, Metro Systems International, boasted of success.
Helmut Fluhrer said: 'We have achieved a number of rainfalls.'
It is believed to be the first time the system has produced rain from clear skies, according to the Sunday Times.

I think a more fitting explanation is that someone stole his Brain, not rain.
Something about these leaders in the middle east makes me wonder..is there a farm where they grow them..Ive never seen such insane and bizarre men like them.
From the stuff they do to the stuff they accuse others of..does it ever end?
If the US pulls out of the middle east we might actually see some improvement among the technology there, but of course we might also see a gaping hole where they all bombed each other to death, too.
I like the idea of ionizing the air like that, it seems way better than spraying crap in the air like we do with our chemtrails.
Have the middle eastern scientists returned to being the ones who hold the technology, instead of the western world?
Seems to me they had it all tens of millenia ago, then the west became the big dog as far as science goes..but as many see happening, the shift to them being the world power and the world technology hub again could be underway.
As a country of idiotic leaders and controlling media, the US is digressing, so it would stand to reason that if the US keeps worrying about which underwear britney spears is wearing, or what a-hole sings better on american idiot..I mean idol...that we would be left in the dust.
Then again, the people there may be quite interesting and gentle overall, but their leaders make up for that tenfold.
I think we should send our government in its entirety to live in Iran, and maybe then Iran can become sooo much like us! Make it a reality show...
Survivor..American leaders in Iran! Turn THEIR brains to mush for a change!
Cheers!
