All valid possibilities Cosmo. The dynamics of the Middle East are much more complex than the average Faux news educated American comprehends and the Iranians are not as beloved by their neighbors as one might think from a far removed distance.
It has been said that, historically speaking, their revolution was one of the (three) greatest and most influential ever, but I think it is not over yet. An important tenet of Shiism is that it is the duty of every cleric to question accepted teachings, so I can't help but wonder how a theocracy can maintain itself in any stable fashior when every single mullah is exhorted to challenge the rule of law? The threats from within and without must surely pull it apart sooner or later.
