zorgon, thank you so much for the tremendous effert these past two days in getting this thing straightened out! We have missed having the usual access! And yes, each time something like this happens, we realize again, what this forum means to each of us, as a part of our daily lives.
Much much thanks, for a job well done!!
Thanks ;D
I guess the mass mail feature worked :P Seems it even personalizes the mail
Youz a smart boy.
Not anymore Brain is MUSH now..
I guess I can be a ZOMBIE for All Hallow's Eve :o
finally gettin my forum fix.you da man zorgon.thankyou.
MISSING AVATARS AND ATTACHMENTS
DO NOT LOAD A NEW AVATAR
They are currently missing because moving the forum means I have to redirect to the attachment url
I MAY delete it and start a new one for avatars only so hold on because if you add an avatar now it will likely get lost when I redirect
On attachments...
Attachments are stored in the MYSLQ database.
As such they take up a lot of space and every time someone views one it loads and slows the database
Attachments are also set to expire by default (currently turned off)
Attachments can also bring in malicious programs even those we limit file extensions
So I have currently copied all attachments to a directory. In a directory they are stored as a hard copy on the server not in a database. As such a link to such a file on the same server as the forum is virtually instant and does not stress the data base
I will be getting us a gallery In fact one is loaded but have had no time to configure it If anyone here has experience setting up Coppermine Gallery PLEASE let me know as once its set up members can store images there and just insert those in posts
It may be necessary to delete the old attachment folder and reload avatars I will let you know
So how many pounds did you lose sweating that out,Z?
Good job on you and your crew on the recovery!
Holy Crap....sorry this went on an ALL HAIL ZORGON for fixing it..... :)

At least we lost ZERO data this time :D
Zorgon !
What can one say after such an ordeal...
Thought all had been lost..
Your the Top Man PRC hero !
Not sure yet how you did it...
But you saved the day and all the members futures...
Hope that you can resolve any further outstanding issues and manage to obtain contact with
any members who may still be unsure what happened and have not yet reestablished contact.
Thanks again..
Ast0144
Congratulations and thank you.
Camelot has been down for a couple days also. I consider this and that one to be among the most important UFO related sites available. I've also noticed problems with other UFO sites or reports.
The question is: who did this and why?. What is happening or about to happen that must be stopped?
Camelot is now back up and running.
Something is going on.........
Thank you so much Zorgon! I know you really, really worked hard.
Thank you again Phedre :)

Astro, email has been sent to all current active members, so hopefully all have been notified, just as Z is working to correct all the issues...
I also made the statement on the temp forum that I am more than willing to pay or donate a monthly membership fee to help maintain the forum; if enough of us here would do so it could be possible to have a dedicated server for the PRC.
What say you, fellow forumians?
seeker
I would be willing to pay a membership fee if it doesn't kill my budget.

p.s. I eat when I'm stressed... what's your favorite stress food? I found these delicious Halloween cookies the other day... oh my God, I may need Cookie Rehab!
THANKS AGAIN ZORGON!!!
There's a reason you wear a crown! Thanks
Thanks Zorgon for what you do here. Other forums have been attacked also. Who knows what lurks in the minds of those who perform such attacks. Maybe getting too close to the truth???? We will never know.
Perhaps this is a part of a precursor (forum attacks) to a major cyber attack on the net?

That is good news, and thanks a million for your efforts!
Thanks so much, Z. I appreciate the effort You went to in putting all this together again!
Z, I just found out Data is on holiday. When he gets home, I'll ask him about some tech support etc.
Oh yes, welcome to the forum staff Seeker. I forgot to say anything and got caught up in the action. :)
Zorgon, thanks for your efforts and successful rebirth of PRC!
You sure do offer a lot to those of us here, and ask so little besides integrity and honesty.
You my friend are a class act!
Cheers!

The invite for Pork Belly and Digging Gems in Oz still Stands :P

I second that, Seeker, a small monthly fee, perhaps withdrawn from a debit acccount automatically..a great idea!
Some may not have much to share, so with that in mind, it should always be voluntary, but as for me I am willing to share what i can! I usually do every couple months or so anyways, so its OK by me!:D
Im certain any rules or stipulations hashed out by the admins will be more than fair!
Cheers!

It's up and running, although I haven't had much time to do anything with it yet. I HAVE however created a special place for you and the rest of the members of Pegasus to visit.
HERE IS THE PEGASUS RESEARCH CONSORTIUM SUB-FORUM at ttiv.forumotion.com.

Any member of Pegasus/Living Moon is welcome on my forum as well. You guys take care of the outer space stuff, and I'll take care of the Earth-bound scumbags: Together, we'll get to the bottom of this rabbit hole.
Deal? ;D
