Recently, zorgon posted a thread exploring the possibility that Our planet is quarantined from the rest of galactic civilization. I proposed that The Abundance Paradigm might be a key out of quarantine. I saw, perhaps, a VERY important option, and added it to that thread.
For various reasons that did not develop into a discussion of this idea, and so I thought We might discuss this possibility in a thread dedicated to doing so.
I would like for You to contribute Your thoughts on this and look forward.
If we are under quarantine it is most likely due to our insistence on taking weapons into space and having wars. Other considerations are likely to be secondary to whether we are peaceful.
That observation about our level of development would probably make the USA and UK about the least developed countries on Earth due to being the two most frequently at war in the last century.
I agree, Pim, and TAP eliminates the profit motive to whip Humans into war frenzy. Humans are not warlike - 99.99999% of Us just get along. Until propaganda makes Our blood boil - and then, through lies, We are led to war so some (who are likely supplying both sides) may profit.
What motive might One have to go to war when One may have anything, and do anything except break the three Laws?

The quarantine thing doesn't bother me much. Once they see we have changed, it will be a different story, don't worry about it.
One of my favourite sayings is 'we will cross that bridge when we come to it'-i think it's from WW2...
The problem, as i see it , is ourselves, & the transition that we need to make, are making wether we like it or not.
I haven't written off us humans just yet, we may still reach that level Amy dreams of. In this i am very personally involved, because it's my dream as well, and i realise that if i could get a team together to examine this whole issue, machines, people, then we could come up with a plan.

im torn on the issue.
part of me,cant stand my neighbors or illegals.with exploration of space,both of these problems could get way worse.
if had the means to explore,i would probably want to be more like dr who.just me and a couple friends.never tell anybody where im from.
