I was pondering various things about life, the universe and everything, you know the kind that are so obvious you don't notice or even question them ?
As I was perusing various videos on youtube, i came across this video which sparked a real rush of questions that had some seriously obvious implications. here's the video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uDWvsdEYSqg
my question is this:
if there's so much out there to see and do, and so many marvelous opportunities to advance for the benefit of humanity, why is everyone instead, focused on how to make people they disagree with on virtually any subject, miserable, poverty stricken or obsolete? don't we have better things to do with our brain power and energy? what is wrong with this picture!??

Because Milton Friedman is our God. Bow down and worship him with the rest of us. Don't resist. ;)

no, the argument over who has money and who doesn't, is a red herring, a distraction. allow me to illustrate with an analogy:
over in africa they have a bunch of people suffering in ethiopia (it's been going on for a very long time), and the guys with the real power and influence are perfectly capable of fixing it, but none who have that capacity, are willing to do so. this is the first big question: WHY THE HELL NOT? well, it appears ethiopians are primarily black christians. that's why the hell not. Modern civs have the technology to solve the ethiopians water problems and the capacity to teach them how to sustain themselves, but instead stand idly by and let them die horrible, brutal, miserable deaths! this is a travesty!
they lie and say the reason is that it would cost too much money. oh bull crap. the real reason is because the social engineers want to engineer various world views off the planet and they are willing to do whatever is necessary for that to happen, including brain washing wide swaths of people into thinking that ethiopians and somalians can't be helped! What a bold faced, evil lie from the pit of hell.
So the reason we aren't doing so, is not because of greed, it's because of social engineering. These people are hard core evil.
so i repeat
my question is this:
if there's so much out there to see and do, and so many marvelous opportunities to advance for the benefit of humanity, why is everyone instead, focused on how to make people they disagree with on virtually any subject, miserable, poverty stricken or obsolete? don't we have better things to do with our brain power and energy? what is wrong with this picture!??
Hello, Undo, so nice to see you posting, I hope you and your family has been well! :)
I havent watched the entire video yet, but Ill offer a impassioned answer to your questions above while its playing in the background...
Quotemy question is this:
if there's so much out there to see and do, and so many marvelous opportunities to advance for the benefit of humanity, why is everyone instead, focused on how to make people they disagree with on virtually any subject, miserable, poverty stricken or obsolete? don't we have better things to do with our brain power and energy? what is wrong with this picture!??
I really wish I had an answer to that question, Undo, I agree that it is a travesty that while one sits in his 5500 square foot beach house and munches caviar, another lays beside a dumpster waiting for the next bag of day old bread to be tossed in so he can eat.
Some would answer me, well the guy in the house earned his money and the guy next to the dumpster is lazy and never stopped doing drugs, but I think we both know thats a poor answer to the problem.
The guy in the beach house, used fellows like the dumpster dude to make his buck and when money flows it snowballs. All the while the dude living next to the dumpster worked for 10 bucks an hour and scraped by while the beach house guy got richer and richer through the toils of his employees.
You know the saying, money makes money...a pretty smug saying I must say. At 10 bucks an hour, theres nothing left for saving...
As for the African continent, they seem to do better without technology in some areas, and they have thrived for millenia until tech came along. It was disease of the civilizations that brings sickness to them and when the possibility of going to the big city finds its way into the minds of their young folks, being a bushman doesnt hold much promise. That one mental block begins a spiral into poverty which when coupled with a propensity to birth too many children for the food supply, and the civilized world restraining their land which they can hunt and gather upon, causes a dilemna of huge proportions.
The moral chapter in this quandry is that once someone has comfort and ease in life, they are damned sure not going to go backwards or give up their picket fence lifestyle to help out a fellow human when thats something someone else can do instead. A general apathetic approach towards the poor or downtrodden is the norm, especially in America, where mommies bring their kids to birthday parties every week where thousands of dollars are showered upon the kid with things from walmart, while right around the corner, people wonder what theyre going to feed their kids for dinner that night.
To bring Christianity into the picture is a bit of a problem, as the base Christian desire is to help thy neighbor and be aware of the suffering of others, but as in Ethiopia, when the Christian is the one doing the suffering, that pact doesnt matter. Its a double edged sword for them there, and the leaders that control the African countries are usually not worried about the poor as long as their castles and big houses are well kept and full of food and wealth. Its similar to the US, but with their lower class being really downtrodden and their upper class being really rich..whereas we still have some semblance of a middle class here, albeit dwindling fast.
There is more than enough wealth on this planet to make everyone live in comfort..so I also ask..why not..yet I know the answer...the wealthy have no desire to share or help, and never have, they just watch from the sidelines with zero cares as their forefathers and them before them havedone for a very long time.
Personally I think it all boils down to the end of the artistic societies which worked together to make their world a better place, and when money and language differences began to take root around the time of the Sumerian, and Vinca culture, it all went south from there.
The roots of greed and indifference were set in firm soil and have never been pruned since.
An analogy to this story happened to me last evening, when I was working at the beach. A fellow walking with a cane dropped to his knees in the sand, about three hundred yards from me, and started crawling across the beach towards the sidewalk. He clearly was in extreme pain, and was having to crawl about a hundred feet to get there. As soon as I saw him fall, I began heading his way after leaving my booth on a pier, and while I walked briskly towards him, no less than twenty people walked past him and completely ignored him without even offering help.
By the time I got to him he had made it about 3/4 of the way there, and I assisted him in getting over to the short wall which bordered the sidewalk, where he sat, exhausted. I asked him.."did any of those people ask if you needed help?" and he replied.."not a one". I went down the beach a ways and brought his car right to him and helped him into it, he had had congenital hip problems from a young age and was having a flareup.
As he drove away, I thought..good grief, whats wrong with these freaking people? Even when I helped him to his feet, and the rest of the way to the wall he sat upon, noone even looked at us, as if they were afraid to be helpful in any way...I was sickened as I walked back to my booth and had to pass some of the people who ignored him..lets just say, I bit my tongue...
For me to sum it up, I too am appalled, Undo, and I see what you say that most are willing to turn an eye to the suffering of others, and thats what will possibly be our undoing and demise in the future, unless we can recognize the plight of the everyman, and average out the resources and fruits of our planets a little better..and soon.
Great to see your words Undo, I missed your presence here ya know. :D

i honestly do not believe it's greed. i think that's smoke and mirrors. a couple decades ago, there were countless charities trying to raise funds to help ethiopians and somalians. now, not a peep. personally, i think it's because they are undergoing a muslim brotherhood takeover, like most of the other countries in africa, and if the world was aware they were suffering and sending them monies to weather the storm, they wouldnt be as easy to subjugate and debreast (yes debreast. in somalia, if you're caught outside as a christian female, the muslims cut off one of your breasts and leave you to die (after gang raping you. no i'm not kidding. i know it sounds insane but it's really happening. i guess the theory is, if they remove a breast, and if you survive, you will no longer be able to make babies, as you will go into early menopause. no more babies, means fewer christians. fewer christians means less struggles trying to fulfill the will of al'lah).
no, i don't for one second believe the lie that it's greed. it's social engineering. same reason the space program is becoming irrelevant. we whities and christians are not allowed to have a space program, apparently. just wait. it's gonna get a whole lot worse.
I agree, Undo, and it is quite troubling!
Perhaps we wont see the real end of it all, but we can observe the race towards it with a sad eye.

Yes, but said evil is institutionalised; that is my point.
http://www.thelivingmoon.com/forum/index.php?topic=2982.0 - Read this first. It will explain other things about my view of reality, which will make the rest of this post a lot clearer.
It's called the Zero Sum Game (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zero%E2%80%93sum_game). Basically it's the belief that there is only so much stuff to go around, so survival means securing your share of said stuff pretty much any way you can; and if someone else doesn't have enough stuff, then that is irrelevant as long as
you have enough to survive. Norman Rockefeller once said it to a former friend of his very bluntly.
"What do you care about anyone else? Take care of yourself, and take care of your family."
This is a physical/logistical justification of what is the Service to Self polarity in acorporeal/energetic terms. It's all about win/lose; the STS people winning, and everyone else losing, and said STS people deriving satisfaction not only from their sense of elitism, but also literally drawing sustenance from the energy associated with misery and fear.
Racism is basically used as a justification for holding the above attitude, for people who themselves are
not truly STS polarised, and who thus might have difficulty with said mentality and behaviour otherwise. So racism towards the Ethiopians or...
***SNIP no racist slur acronyms please SNIP***"
...is encouraged, because if you're a white supremacist racist who thinks that those ethnic groups do not have a legitimate right to exist in the first place, then you're not going to be at all upset when someone in the military or government suggests going over to Africa or the Middle East and stealing their natural resources. In fact, you'll probably cheer them on.
As a character in the Horde, I experienced that even within World of Warcraft. In conjunction with the backstory, Alliance players were the Caucasian beautiful people who literally saw themselves as, "the good guys," or even, "the Chosen of the Light," as Arthas once put it; and the Horde, and most especially the Orcs, were simply barbaric, inhuman monsters who were completely disposable. It might have been a fictitious scenario, but a lot of them didn't behave that way. They never had any qualms about however much cruelty they showed us; we weren't considered worth their pity.
The cabal and the Alphas are evangelical, and they very much want everyone in humanity to join their game. They only think there can be one
winner, mind you; but they still want everyone else to think the same way they do, as far as hierarchy and getting what you need by stepping on everyone else's face is concerned.
The reason why it doesn't change, is because the 85% or so of the population who are largely neutral, (or maybe even vaguely altruistic/STO if given the chance) have been fooled into accepting ideologies which justify this behaviour as reality. The single biggest vulnerability that the sheep have, is that at bottom, they're good people. The reason why this is a vulnerability, is because it causes them to give the cabal and the Alphas the benefit of the doubt, and to assume that members of those two groups are just as basically altruistic as they (at least potentially) are.
I've also started to think recently, that Capitalism or Communism or whatever else, are not the real problem, economically speaking. The real problem is the fact that the only type of government we are ever allowed to have, anywhere, is large scale centralised federalism. It is assumed as a given that this is the only legitimate type of government which exists; the concept of smaller communities being self-governing is literally unthinkable in most people's minds.
Despite the degree that I've clashed with Zorgon about it at times, I've finally started to realise that his system
is a lot healthier than what the rest of society has in one respect; and that respect is that each kingdom or whatever, is relatively small. So in essence, you have modular decentralisation; because although each group governs itself, each group governs
only itself, and said groups are presumably small enough that real intimacy and accountability are likely still possible.
The other thing to understand, is that when I really look at it, I actually don't have a problem with self-maximisation at all. It's just that I really don't think that each individual viewing themselves as existing in a vacuum is anything close to the best way to do it; because apart from anything else, said view is completely detached from reality. We are all dependent on other people; whether it is people we buy from, sell to, work for, or whatever else. Friedman and their ilk can talk about self-interest as much as they want; but if everyone else on the planet died, they themselves probably wouldn't live very long; and even if they did, they would not do so happily.

it isn't white supremacy in africa. believe it or not, and i know this is a bit of a shocker, but arab islamists, view black muslims as inferior. a shock, i know. first time i heard it, i was like ... "no way! " it's true.
they have historically enslaved the blacks, and they do this in the strangest way imaginable - class warfare, inspiring jealousy over even the smallest advantage, recalling to mind anything that has gone wrong for their particular ethincity since the dawn of mankind and only focusing on those events that happened while under the control of the target group, whether that's jews, christians, white people, hindus or buddhists, matters not, as long as there's something to use (no matter how ancient) as the rationale. you can see this same thing happening in american society, where no matter how much we pay in taxes, it's not enough. no matter how much of our labor goes to making the lives of the less fortunate, easier, or into helping stem the tide of disaster or fixing disasters or helping unwed mothers or etc, it's not enough, because some white people 200 years ago bought some black slaves from other blacks (yes blacks selling blacks into slavery. and they fail to mention muslim slave owners when they do this because they are betting on their manipulation of human foibles like jealousy and the inability to forgive.), 200 years ago and now, we have to be reminded of this for the rest of our lives, 200 years later. we have long since passed any biblical or islamic generational curses so the only excuse is because it's a power grab and they are using jealousy to get it done.

No, it's not a shock. There are plenty of Muslims who view it as their divine perogative to assimilate the entire planet.

It isn't just the Arabs who do this, undo. Everyone does. That doesn't make it any more justifiable, but ethnocentricity occurs in every ethnic group on the planet.

it isn't an atheist rant. it's a "What the flip?" rant, regarding the slow takeover of europe by the religion of peace.
anyway, regardless of all this. i cant help but thinking that christians in america have been many times more agreeable and willing to fit in and follow the laws, pagan, atheist and multicultural society, so the idea we are some pimple on the perfect nose of the west is really quite baffling. particularly when the alternative looks like islam.
one selling point they have is they bring the promise of democratic socialism with them, but sadly, once in sufficient numbers, they include with it, only democratic socialism for certain sectors of society and everyone else is outta luck. meaning if you ain't the right part of the population, you not only will be impoverished, but you will have no way to better your plight. period. this seems to be happening with increasing frequency, everywhere, but particularly in western countries.
the guy in the video brings up the pertinent point that the guys in power are willing to sell their own citizens down the river, provided it keeps them in power longer. notice that word---> "power"?
that's what it's all about. not money, not greed, but power. the power to control who gets what when and how. the power to control what you believe in the privacy of your own head. the power to micromanage every waking moment of your life and socially engineer you out of existence. as he put it in the vid, the inquisition has reared its ugly head again, and our leaders are more than willing to embrace it provided they can keep their positions of power.
i swear it's like we've been taken over by a hostile alien race.

yeah it's a lonnnng video but really interesting. it raises so many questions and hammers home just how bad things really are becoming. the economy should be a big blinking indicator but i think it's just a farce anyway. the real indicator that we are marked for third world status is the state of our space program which has been highjacked by the jesuit arm of the vatican and being slowly dismantled.

our society is doing this to itself. we are actually voting and arguing ourselves into being a third world nation, apparently because more than half our society believes we deserve it. i don't think i deserve to be impoverished and i dont think anyone else does either and i know alot of people feel the same way but apparently not enough to stop this. it's like taking out a hammer and smashing your own toes with it repeatedly. kinda psychotic.

In the interests of open mindedness, I am watching it. I'm only a few seconds in, but he's still talking fairly calmly at the moment. Pat takes a few moments to build up a good head of steam, from memory; I'm sure the ranting and the screaming will probably begin ar around the three minute mark.
Quoteanyway, regardless of all this. i cant help but thinking that christians in america have been many times more agreeable and willing to fit in and follow the laws, pagan, atheist and multicultural society, so the idea we are some pimple on the perfect nose of the west is really quite baffling. particularly when the alternative looks like islam.
Christianity has accepted domestication because it knows it is dying. Islam, on the other hand, is currently on the other side of the bell curve, that's all. Monotheistic religions seem to have a particular life cycle; Islam is about to go through the imperialistic world conquest and mass murder phase. Assuming we're still alive at the end of it, however, it
will eventually pass.
More seriously, however, I will admit that of all the different models of apocalypse currently bearing down on us, Islam engaging in a collective impersonation of the Daleks is probably the one I have the least amount of fear of. I just can't see it being permitted by the rest of the population, to the extent that some people seem to be afraid of it.
Cultural Marxism notwithstanding, people do have limits. If Muslims become a problem beyond a certain level, they will find themselves the targets of continually increasing violence, irrespective of what governments or the political correctness police try and say about it. Assuming hypothetically for a moment, that Anders Breivik was
not a Manchurian Candidate, then I can assure you that there are plenty more where he came from. I see paranoid ranting from white supremacists about Muslims and various other groups on 4chan all the time.
White society will wait for a certain period of time, (primarily in order to assure itself that Muslims have been issued an appropriate number of warnings first) and then, if Islamic imperialism persists sufficiently, there will eventually be a response.
one selling point they have is they bring the promise of democratic socialism with them, but sadly, once in sufficient numbers, they include with it, only democratic socialism for certain sectors of society and everyone else is outta luck. this seems to be happening with increasing frequency, everywhere, but particularly in western countries.
Pat confirms what I've read elsewhere about rape essentially being Islam's signature crime. The religion is probably the single most misogynistic on the planet. I never see Islamic women in any of their demonstrations, and I've read accounts of how, while being raped by Islamic men, Western women will be told that their religion allows them to do that.
Quotei swear it's like we've been taken over by a hostile alien race.

QuoteChristianity has accepted domestication because it knows it is dying
nah, christianity accepts domestication because jesus christ included that in his teachings. it's not the fault of christians of the age of reason, that the christians of the dark ages had no idea that jesus said that in the text of the bible because 1) they weren't allowed to have a bible and 2) it was written only in latin and greek for a very long time. a point conveniently overlooked
anyway, back on topic:
i find it increasingly disturbing that with all the crap going on, on the planet, we as a species, are being compelled to focus on anything and everything, EXCEPT how to get along and advance our knowledge. instead, we're being encouraged to engage in survival of the fittest on a massive scale, and the rules of engagement are extremely bizaare.
Hi undo. I have watched the entire video, and i think it probably pretty much sets the mark of how things have happened over the years of our piece-meal space program.
I do like the thought of going to Mars! However, how can we rationalize going to Mars, even before we actually know the reality of the Moon?? If we (Earth) earnestly made an effort to a near-term commitment to "discover" the facts of the Moon, ON THE MOON, then I believe significant "learning" there would also apply to the "discovery" on the planet Mars. Most of the difference is only ..................distance!
Besides the knowledge to be gained from the Moon itself, the getting there of a discovery team, the "hub-type" surface housing for the team, a get-around ground vehicle, and staging the "get back home" vehicle would similarly apply (except for the fuel proposition).
Now, as far as Mars is concerned, there has been life there, according to relevant Mars photos. Skeptic comments not withstanding, there are very obvious photo evidence of that fact. I also believe there is evidence that some part of that Martian life may have been/is underground.
So, I am all for making a plan for Mars, and the Moon too, and getting on with the program!!
Why not consider the Moon as possibly being a perfect place for our next "space station"?? ;)
QuoteWhy not consider the Moon as possibly being a perfect place for our next "space station"?? ;)

Yes, I have seen some of them! They certainly give the Moon a nice "facelift"! I certainly would like to hope that they are in a range of being close to right, color-wise.
My comment about the Moon for a space station - - it is reasonably close, it should certainly be easier to construct a hard-mounted station/facility, and there plenty of surface area for anything desired. And of course, it is generally accepted that the Moons gravity is about 1/6th of the Earth's, so, launch requirements should be drastically different, from the Moon.
Certainly, we would need to know just what is up there before we could make a decision for a space station there. We would not want to impose on anyone already up/out there. :))
well that's the point. think about it. they already have a space station on the moon, why else would they be contemplating having one on mars and not even mentioning the moon? it's a secret, apparently. it's one of those "so obvious you miss it," things i mentioned in the op.
you should see some of the evidence z and john lear managed to accumulate. such as the fact the shuttles were going up with cargo loads of fresh fruit and veggies many times the amount capable of being stored in the international space station or eaten by its crew. it was in the tons. tons of perishables. will have to ask z to reproduce the list for you to read.
or the fact there are launch platforms out in the ocean where literally no one that doesn't have satellite capability and aware of the location, could witness them launching. so some of these launches have no oversight and haven't had, for many years.
so either they have encountered an alien species that considers oranges a delicacy or there's a massive station out there, either on the moon or somewhere we aren't being made privy to which contains humans who want oranges on their menu.
but we aren't allowed to know this!
what does that tell you about my op?

Once upon a time... in a strange land that is MASTER at growing wheat... they made a decision to share their wheat growing secrets with the world...
The EMISSARIES went forth to India and taught the farmers what they where doing wrong tilling the land. They showed them that you MUST take care of the soil with crop rotation and proper fertilization if you want your grain to grow..
Well the farmers in India took notes and learned well... so well in fact that THEY became exporters of wheat and became competition for their benefactors
This resulted in their benefactors ending up with TONS of SILOS filled to overflowing with wheat that they could no longer sell.
Now these EMISSARIES also went to Africa... Ethiopia and Biafra specifically. They showed those farmers the same techniques, gave them the same hybrid high yield seeds.
But this time the farmers didn't pay heed...THIS time the farmers told the EMISSARIES "NO, This is NOT how our forefathers taught us... we will not listen to you"
Don't take my word for it, do a little research before you go making this a religious dispute. At the time this teaching of wheat farming techniques almost destroyed the Canadian wheat industry and farmers had to be paid a government subsidy because they couldn'r sell their wheat because of Indian competition.
The Africans REFUSED the help... just like Japan refused our help during Fukushima, even though we had NAVY ships off shore ready to jump in. Those ships had to leave because the water radiation levels got too high for safety. We cannot FORCE aid on people. Th African farmers simply refused to be told that their old farming methods were wrong to feed the numbers they have today
QuoteArgh! Modern civs have the technology to solve the ethiopians water problems and the capacity to teach them how to sustain themselves, but instead stand idly by and let them die horrible, brutal, miserable deaths! this is a travesty!
Well perhaps if they didn't throw their trash into their water supply they wouldn't need us to fix it... Doesn't seem to bother them much, because their kids still swim in it

QuoteSo the reason we aren't doing so, is not because of greed, it's because of social engineering. These people are hard core evil.
The reason we are not doing it is because these people prefer things the way they are and will not take lessons from us on how to improve their life. I have seen it in Canada when the government made beautiful apartment buildings for all those living on welfare. In a mater of months, those buildings that were rent free were trashed, graffiti everywhere, garbage urine and feces even in the swimming pools.
When I took my scuba classes the pool we had the use of was in a lower class neighborhood... well they routinely had to drain and refill that pool because the piss and sh!t was visibly floating in it
Its all well and good to say :Oh we need to help them" but when that help is given, and it gets trashed... you soon say FVCK EM....
Those buildings in Toronto got so bad they had to be condemned. Rape, prostitution and drugs was rampant in there and they were gorgeous building with modern everything and a park, pools and recreation area
think of it like aliens coming to nevada and telling you to spit on the ground first, chant a few lines of gibberish and then plant your garden diagonal to magnetic north and to dig it up and turn the soil, and move to a place you've never worked before, with rocks and debris in it, and poor soil, and start all over again. you'd think they were missing a few cans in their six pack.
first mistake they made was assuming that the native culture would automatically embrace everything they said.
second mistake, which they are making today, is not having people who speak the native language, and who are the same ethnicity, to address them on important issues like potable water. we can't even talk about growing wheat. we're still looking at water problems. there's huge bodies of water all around africa that can be desalinated. there's water that can be extracted from the air, AND, there's simple clay filters that can turn grungy yucky water, into drinking water and all they are is big ceramic barrels with sand, rocks, and charcoal in them, something abundant in africa. there's really no reason why people living today, in our modern world, should have to die from lack of water.
