Title: Annoying/Insane YouTube user interface changes
Post by: petrus4 on December 07, 2012, 04:54:07 AM
Am I the only one who is experiencing problems with this?  Apparently Google's YouTube division have gone insane.  Videos have been moved to the far left hand side of the screen; if you've got decent resolution, that means that close to the right 50% of your screen ends up white and empty.  They've also changed the entire aesthetic layout to match their Google+ failure, which comparitively speaking I think looks terrible, as well.

I attribute this to corporate complacency.  I suspect that Google have the attitude of, "Everyone uses YouTube now, and will continue to do so irrespective of what we do, so we can just screw things up as much as we want, and it won't matter."

It will be interesting to see whether or not that ends up being true.  I'm debating closing my YT account and moving to another site; maybe Blip, but I'm not sure yet.

Yeah petrus, it sux.

Several years ago I used to take the time to configure my page all nice with design and color.... then one day zap, just like this.

All my time spent down the 'tube'.

I gave up putting any more time into their site 'looks'.

I agree.

I have 5 channels which I manage. There are three ways they appear on my screen on the several accounts?!?! With the google+ addition its a complete mess. The new layout is really a joke. All things on the wrong place, its not natural anymore.
The new dashboard they want you to use really has no value.

sigh.
