I'm curious. Do others see how science fiction, in television or novels, has taken an approach to the idea of a new world order but more importantly, focusing on a fight against it. Take the tv series Fringe for example. At the point the current series is at now, they are fighting against a global antagonist who is trying to rule mankind. Can we be ruled? Or will the idea of freedom persist through history no matter the efforts of those who seek to subjugate us? It is simply an idea, and i welcome all views in this discussion. Do others see how often this type of topic or underlying subject makes itself present?

Hello Deathcoyote, welcome to the forum!!
To respond to your question, I suppose that if "The Planet of the Apes" series were "non-fiction", then I guess mankind could be "ruled"!! ;)
Actually, in my opinion, mankind is on the brink of sliding into its own self-made abyss of societal debt and moral decline, to a seemingly point of no return. With those conditions, mankind will try to grasp on to any promise extended, to save themselves from the "wreck of life" they see coming. When mankind arrives to those conditions, they (those who are Godless) will be wiling to "prostitute" themselves to whoever the pied-piper is, and he/they instantly becomes "the ruler of mankind".
As I said, in my opinion. And we are certainly seeing a move in that direction in this good old USA, in a lot of different ways!
Of course, just the phraseology of the term "new world order" is being used frequently around the world in real venues of today, and I am not referring to entertainment stuff. It seems a lot of people are talking it, for real in their minds. And that is both a very sad thing, and a very scary thing, as far as the continuing existence of mankind is concerned. The new world order thinking, if enacted, will destroy the freedoms of life on this planet, as many of us have enjoyed, over a lot of years. New world order = POS for mankind!
Again - WELCOME TO THE FORUM!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D
Welcome, Deathcoyote!
I haven't been paying much mind to current SF...too busy trying to easily and peacefully defeat the NWO with My work (see link in sig as a start, if You're interested).
But I do believe Humans will always seek freedom unless They believe Themselves free - as far too many on this planet do, not seeing that Their Human energy is being sucked from Them, used to enrich the "elite," and that such accounting for meaningful energy expended is not a requirement only recently in Human history (the NWO keeps free energy hidden...).
So welcome again and I look forward to Your further input into this fine forum!
There is no NWO :P They are a figment of your imagination
::)
Thank you everyone, I appreciate the welcome.
