The Dallas Morning News reports that Lancaster, Texas police arrested a suspect, 25-year-old Eddie Ray Routh, after a brief chase.
Kyle had become well-known for his exploits in Iraq, where he deployed four times, set the record for sniper kills at 150, received numerous commendations, and, according to the Stephensville Empire Tribune, was given the nickname "The Devil of Ramadi" by insurgents.

It could just be another coincidence of course; but my own Spidey sense is telling me that this is potentially another chapter, in the story I previously documented here (http://www.thelivingmoon.com/forum/index.php?topic=3490.msg48988#msg48988). Makes me wonder how many more of these hits there are going to be.
Some with PTSD dont want to hear anymore about war and suffering, and sometimes when the guys who still hold their time in the field dear try to make sense to someone like this fellow who killed them, the PTSD sufferer just doesnt want to hear it.
I know firsthand about PTSD, with a brother who suffers badly from it, and several acquaintances of whom I have tried to help with a more gentle approach, which has proven very successful for them.
The shooter shouldve gotten help from a totally different source, and should definitely not have been around guns. He shouldve been offered the correct path of change and treatment through a peaceful means, such as learning meditation, or going to a Qi Gong master.
Truly a sad story, but as one who doesnt see any forward use for war or killing for reasons which are clearly aside from common sense and normal human needs, I cant say I am surprised at how those who think in that manner or have been immersed in it can be normal ever again. And noone here unless they have been there and done that can say anything about how it feels other than what they have read or are told by someone in that position...it must be really difficult to deal with..I can only imagine. :(
And, it wouldnt be a fair and complete thread if someone didnt mention the karma that the sniper himself had built up for all the killings he committed in the name of our insane dysfunctional government's march of madness, so let it be said, what comes around, goes around.
RIP Mr Kyle, hopefully your book and other forms of sharing will help someone someday and make a difference in the long run.
