Title: Russell Crowe 'captures UFO on camera'
Post by: Somamech on March 06, 2013, 04:01:49 PM
This is quite an intriguing case  ???

QuoteThe usually publicity-shy Gladiator performer said he captured what appears to be several flying objects whizzing over Sydney's Botanical Gardens earlier this week and he's posted the results on YouTube.

"A friend and I set camera to capture fruit bats rising from Botanic Gardens. This was a big surprise," he tweeted on Wednesday.

Crowe provided a link to the footage, which was posted online late on Tuesday from a brand-new account by the name of ParallelUniverse1234.

It's unclear if the account is run by the actor.

The short clip titled UFO? Time Lapse Photos Outside RC's Woolloomooloo Office (THESE ARE REAL) shows a number of oddly-shaped lights over what appears to be the Botanical Gardens.

The part I highlighted in Yellow is correct, as in there are a lot of fruitbats in OZ.  (Calm the snickering down folkes LOL)

Further on the news article shares what Russel said in response to the usual banter regarding lens flare:

QuoteThe actor defended the video's veracity when asked if the lights may have been lens flares or other natural phenomenon.

"Canon 5D, no flash, can't be lense (sic) flare because it moves, camera is fixed," he replied to one Twitter user.

"The camera is on a balcony - not behind glass."

He said he was about 250 metres from the gardens when he caught the footage.

Screen Grabs from the video.

note that the original video is in 1080p and these screen grabs are not captured at that resolution.

About the only comment I can offer is that RC does 'seem' like a No BS sorta person, and if this footage is real, then that's one heck of a capture!

Soma,

Good find!
The UFO seems bright, and lots of color.

Yes, this is very interesting. I first saw this on /fox News website.

There is another "UFO" (unidentified for me) in the camera shots - not nearly as exciting!. One doesn't really see it while watching the small screen video, but when on "full screen", it is very obvious. It is in the middle of the screen, seen above the trees. When the OP UFO is in full view, this "object" is more difficult to see. It does appear to be in the distance...............this object can also just barely be seen in Soma's screen-grab, in the distance, and above the trees -----a small "dot"!

I can't post an "attachment", but I think you can find it in the screen-grabs, and in the video already posted.

Ok so the top comment on the side of "It's BS"  says this:

Youtube Username:  BaseReality

QuoteIt's an internal reflection from the car headlights, caused by a filter being on the lens. Take the filter off and the reflection will? go away.

Another Expert who seems to be hounding the Comments in the page I am looking at is saying this:

QuoteAh, did you not get the message it was a time-lapse video in frame accumulation mode?

Do you know what that means?

Do you have a Canon 5DMkIII so that you could try it for yourself?

Could save you a? lot of heartache.

Actually you could be forgiven because Russ hasn't given you that information here, you had to read the news to get that important little tidbit (even though it is immediately obvious to anyone who has one of these cameras)

QuoteSettle, it's just? a yacht motoring by... and you're just catching the mast.

That's what happens at night in Woolloomooloo.

So on the Skeptick side we have a Yacht Passing By, along with another explanation that it was a Car Passing By.  It's easy to fill in any other details one would like to view the comment's if one wishes to become Uber Pedantic in my presentation of the Skeptick side :P

On the Pro side we have ALIENS  ;D

I guess that comment's on either side are not that bothered either way!

As they are invisible from the bottom side.if they return then he could have a friend drive a few blocks away and triangulate the location.then go to the location and shoot a pen laser pointer up.the laser will bend around the craft and then he will be able to see the craft up close.

ok.. only thing i can do is enlarge soma's screen shots and what you can see is a line of light
like a close up of a very bright florencent bulb and then behind it a more diffused light with bars..
that is then reflected onto the ground in a lesser degree of brightness

the second and third shots still have a discolored area where the previous shining down  light was in the previous shot
it's orangish-brown in color

there is a road with some type of fence along it  behind the trees with the same distance between the posts as the spacing in the secondary light with bars - in the sky ufo shots

and it does look like some kind of glass reflection

not that it matters but i vote for an optical something or other and not a ufo

sigh
:P

looking again i think the light is on the ground and being shot into the air..like a spot light or strobe would be on a small golf car or something similar and then being reflected somehow back down
or captured thur glass or.??????...optical stuff
just guessing

True that !

There is always some diagonal trace of light in the frames presented.

But also remember we are located on Planet Earth where we "Think We Know" yet have not sent a crew back to the Moon Yet... And as far as anyone is concerned who buy's the Moon Mission as a feat of Super Achievement on the back of NASA ALONE... We aint done anything that great since.  SO we don't have a good track record of achievement on this planet to go around being experts on what "May Be" an Alien or Mil Craft.  And Judging by the experts on Youtube we don't even have great consensual judgment on Video Footage :D

I honestly have little opinion on this being true or not other than that Russel Crowe has a reputation of pissing people off who are Wool Dyed Jews, and likes to star in movies that reflect his "Gauge" on Life....

i think good old russell is having some fun

HAS Rusty officially gone batty?
Crowe, the co-owner of South Sydney Rabbitohs and a Twitter fan, said he captured what appears to be several flying objects whizzing over Sydney's Royal Botanic Gardens earlier this week.

Hours after griping on Twitter that his new flick was being under-promoted, Russell Crowe seemed to create his own publicity stunt.

Posting a video on YouTube see video below) of what appeared to be flying objects whizzing over the gardens, Crowe wrote: "A friend and I set camera to capture fruit bats rising from Botanic Gardens. This was a big surprise."

Russell Crowe was trying to film fruit bats over Sydney's Royal Botanic Gardens.
.The footage attached to the tweet was posted online late on Tuesday from a brand-new account by the name of ParallelUniverse1234.

Contacted yesterday Crowe's Aussie rep clarified the alleged UFO video, shot by acclaimed cinematographer Duane Manwiller, was actually filmed in Sydney four years ago.

"Duane is a friend of Russell's and shot that while he was in Sydney about four years ago," Crowe's manager Grant Vandenberg told Confidential.

Asked why Crowe chose to release it now, Vandenberg said: "I have no idea."

The decision to release the old footage came several hours after the actor made a handful of obvious digs at the studio behind his latest flick Broken City - distributed in Australia by Twentieth Century Fox - suggesting the release campaign behind the thriller had been unsubstantial. "So apparently @BrokenCityMov is released in Australia on Friday . . . who knew? Very subtle release campaign," Crowe wrote.

Vandenberg also slipped in a plug for the flick, released in the US six weeks ago to an underwhelming box office response, when we talked to him yesterday. "(Crowe's) got a movie out tomorrow. Are you mentioning that?" he asked.

Consider the truth officially out there.

I don't know about ufo but I know the area very well, i lived there for 7 years and from my balcony I had a direct view of Russel's place at finger wharf. If you look on google maps its the large house at the end with the garden and pool. I never got to know if he just had the top floor or not.

Anyway, on the left of the wharf is the botanical gardens where fruit bats live (flying foxes). Every evening it was the most amazing sight of watching the fruit bats fly south to feed.

Boats are often in and out but I would say cars might be difficult to see and Mrs McQuarie road is a busy road but not at all hours. My thoughts is planes...helicopter. I use to see them every night.

just my few cents worth!

Its just my opinion zorgon, I read about "Duane" and that he tooks the time frames while visiting in Sydney. I am not trying to make any points other than I know the area well so I want to look into it further.

Question: Am I able to upload images? If so, how do I go about it.
