The Mars mission in the Utah desert.
Scientists have donned space suits for a new mission to explore whether humans can survive on Mars - but the red desert is actually in Utah. The Mars Desert Research Station is 'crewed' by scientists - all outdoor exploration is done wearing simulated spacesuits and carrying air supply packs and crews live together in a small communication base with limited amounts of electricity, food, oxygen and water.

Yes our news agencies have become so poor we now have to rely on the uk to tell us whats happening in the usa.
I have always used BBC an NPR as main news sources since they are usually no bullshit, no hype, just the facts and cover topics the main stream media in US is not interested in.
Today we also have RT Russian Times who are fluent in English, have cute reporters AND allow full copy of their reports as long as link and credit are there. No copyright issue.
Lately I have found that any major news in the US and the world is eventually covered on RT :D
The other news agencies I use are all military at DOT MIL sites :P
Press releases from AF, Navy and NASA etc are good, but lately I haven't been keeping up with them and most NASA ones have been boring Earth programs lately
Even Pentagon has a channel :D

For any budding news roamers, press releases are great because they normally come with permission to copy them at will pretty much. Providing you name your source then you can publish the material. Z has been milking that and public domain for years :P They are released solely to generate publicity so they want you to copy it.
However, beware the press release! If the military or intel are releasing info it is propaganda, PR or disinfo (especially regarding research). One of the most important functions of press relations is to throw enemy (yes everyone except VERY close ALLIES is one) research down blind alleys to waste their resources or mislead them about your likely gains in capability. Would you want your enemies to know what you will really be able to do in 1, 2 or 5 years and start countermeasures in advance?
Yes, I am open to job offers and have expertise in bioscience, internet shenanigans and deeper politics for any recruiters looking for real talent. :D
A couple additional points along that line.. regarding insiders in general...
The do talk a lot in riddles and 'between the lines' reading is required. But still they do give you real crumbs to follow. Some of course are still FYEO... but then :D

In terms of a goodly portion of my work being exposed to the public domain...there's a 'reason' for that. Some of my work is very 'exotic' and much of it (as you mention) is 'just the tip of the cat's tail'! The 'logic' behind that line of reason (so I'm told...) is to 'send a subtle message' to anyone/entity even possibly conceiving some kind of threat...can see a certain level of sophistication (albiet, simplified) with the assumption (on someone's part) that anyone (scientist, decision-maker, policy-maker, etc.) with 'half an asshole' <forgive the vernacular> would assume that if information such as presented in my stealth patent was 'allowed' to issue and become part of the human lexicon, then...there 'must be something better...that they're not telling us'. That is the logic behind much of what is revealed in the public domain.
Works pretty good... everyone I know is convinced the government is 30 years ahead of what they tell us ;)
I will share another snippet from that email. This was regarding NJ Mooch's (lets just say he was a real spook on ATS) 'visit'
This was back in 2007, shortly after I met John and got into all this... the friend I refer to is Beth and hubby ;) (just for clarification :P )
Zorgon;
Now since then my emails have been filled with addresses form government officials and I have become friends with some well placed people. While they cannot say much due to their oaths etc, the mere fact that they are contacting me in a positive way was an eye opener to me. Now suddenly I find this is serious...
I do not know for sure if I am on the right track, or if I am totally "out there" but one friend from the DoD who came to visit as a result of this search, told me "you only have the tip of the cat's tail"

I hate to be the one to comment (negatively) on the above statement extracted/highlighted from your note: A word of caution. These 'new friends'...are not your 'friends'. They are on a 'mission'...and that mission is find out what you know...and then...to 'send that information forward....'. Some of those 'new friends' will be part of 'black-ops' or counter-intel. And I believe (although I have no proof) that some of the information being 'spoon-fed' to John Lear could very possibly be part of a 'disinformation' policy. Ask yourself...what better opportunity or person (like JL, accomplished, credibility, etc.) to mix the truth with disinformation? This is what 'they' want.... "Keep 'em guessing"...plausible deniability...conjecture mixed with fact.
Some day, and I hope we get the opportunity to meet and have a conversation someplace 'private'...I'll share some things with you...things that I cannot explain (and I have 5 college degrees)...things I've actually seen (in laboratories inside of mountains)...that would 'Curl Don King's hair'!
So yeah there are interesting connotations ... but at least I get better access to information... even if I have to sort it :P

...I try to keep ONE THING that I "know" very close to my chest as I want to stay alive. :o
Well I have just GOT to sit down with Joe in some dark cafe somewhere :D
(with a tape recorder :P )

RT means "Russia Today".
I suppose you know that RT is a state-funded station, so there's always the possibility of some propaganda being mixed in there. ;)
PS: I sometimes watch RT, it's one of the several news channels I have at my disposal. I like it. :)
Have you seen the tit-for-tat propaganda on RT? They are saying the Pentagon are building 14 cyber attack teams.... The Americans have accused the Chinese and Russians already I think. ::)
well, unless i'm a manchurian candidate or something, i am definitely not black ops and as far as i know, neither is hubby. i mean, if he were in black ops, you'd think they would've at least gave him an easier time while he was active duty. instead it was just one harassment after another. they sent that poor man to korea TWICE, while i was being operated on for possible breast cancer, and then when i was diagnosed with it and had the operation, they sent him away AGAIN, on the premise that the cancer doctor said i wouldn't need chemotherapy. as soon as he was gone the cancer doctor does a 180 and insists i go in for chemo. the red cross had to send him home TWICE because the military kept ignoring our pleas for leniency while i was going thru this trauma.
and to make matters even worse, they sent him to the war against terror, right when it kicked off, while i was recovering from the chemo, and while my mom, who lived with us, was suffering from cancer at 89 years of age. she also had advanced alzheimers! i had to take care of all that including getting her bathed and diaper changed every day, and then her funeral preparations and on and on. (yeah she died while he was in iraq). and the chemo gave me diabetes and it was undiagnosed for almost a year. the neuropathy was so bad, i could barely turn the lid off a bottle that was already open, or raise a cup of coffee to my mouth.
AND if that weren't enough, we were so dirt poor for the first 15 or so years of his enlistment, we qualified for freakin' food stamps. if that's how they treat their black ops, i dunno how they would have anybody willing to do the job. cause you have an entirely different type of seriousness involved with anything that puts you into contact with such sensitive information that likely supercedes things like top secret info. it's probably a very dangerous job and likely has a salary that supports that. i mean think of all the people who have been in the spy racket that end up dead cause they know too much of the wrong info. that's where black ops categories would come in. even a battle hardened warrior would be leary of all that subterfuge and potential death.
so yeah, we are black ops (sarcasm). maybe some of the people that have emailed ya, z, but not bryan and i. if bryan is black ops, i'd be very very surprised. and unless i'm black ops in my sleep, i can account for every moment of my day, and it consists of the same things every day. read this forum, read ats, play wow, listen to music, watch videos. do dishes. feed the cat and dog. talk to my family (my hubby and 3 children and daughter in law). eat. sleep. repeat.
