The fight against aging is one of my greatest interests (based on self interest - I've seen the aging process and decline to participate).
The great thing about this article is that it ties together nearly every successful anti-aging intervention known to science into a common explanation: the failure of autophagy. This is critical because, up until now, aging has defied explanation as a phenomena that affects everything but can't be reduced to a single cause.
Although not mentioned therein, I also think the article agrees with observations of extreme longevity in some animals such as some whales and tortoises - that practice extreme fasting.
It's hope.... and that gets in short supply sometimes.
I decided not to "age", but the body has a different idea. No one has informed me that I have to do it "gracefully" which is impossible anyway. ;D
But as far as living longer than my contract has really no appeal to me. I am one of those that, from birth, just "know" I'm not from here. ::)
I'm not from here, but so enjoy this Human form... I have always known I would not die. [shrug] I plan on exploring the universe. [smile]
For now I endure these signs of aging, feeding Myself as healthily as I am able, and await when waiting is filled.
paul harvey once had a story about a fellow who only ate oats meat and bread.veggies when he could get them.supposedly a king made him council because of his age.on his last birthday he ate rich foods and cake and died.
then again jesus said its not what goes in your mouth its what comes out that determines how long one lives.im not a religious nut but i use to be.there may be something to it.n
I do wish I had your faith in an afterlife. My only obstacle is how the massive conversion after death could possibly exist.
As a physical creature, every ability depends on the flesh and the nervous system working. Poke out an eye and you're blind, get a stroke in the brain and other things stop working, etc.
If unconsciousness results from getting a concussion, why is that state not permanent if it crushes your skull?
If there is an answer to the above, I'd like to know. Maybe Buddhists thought about this or Plato.
when i passed out there was only darkness.sound came back first then touch.then sight.
