Interesting video here. Check it out. Ignore the intro but keep watching. Be patient it's worth it as the person taking the video is establishing how long he was watching and what happened.

verrrry interesting , Edward
i used a zip for amarillo for this link but don't know how to go backwards to that date to see what was in that sky at that time
...maybe some tech guys here can help
before you can believe any thing you have to illiminated the other possibilities
it could have been a satilite busting up..???

i used to see all kinds of things in the sky but for the last two years plus we have so seldom had a blue clear sky or a clear night that i just plain ass quit taking my camera out
Hi skyotter,
Yeah, but doesn't sat's usually move around the earth in some kind of orbit? When I had viewed this. Two things went through my mind. A. That is was just hanging up there in sky and "something" happen and then it started to break up. B. That what ever it was , was coming straight at the observer and then it started to break up and you can see it start to fall in more of a downward motion. To me I don't immediately think of a sat. here. What first went through my mind is A. Is this a craft of some sort, ufo perhaps? Or B. Was this some sort of meteor or space junk coming down?
As to what it really was I don't know but those where the immediate impressions I was getting and I just wanted to share what was in this video to see what everyone else thinks and to bring awareness to people that something happened and perhaps needs to be explained/researched.

Interesting footage. perhaps it's a clip of some DOD technology in a test? what kind of technology i could not say for sure,Maybe a space based missile launch with multiple "dummy" warhead separation? and an earth based laser weapon?
Nice catch though ;)
When I was looking at the object - and was told to watch the black dot in the center...I was suddenly reminded of the "tether critters..."
I wonder if there is a relationship.
Looked like an incoming object, popped the sound barrier & then Popped flares. But any guess is as good as mine.

Yes, both are bright dots out of focus. ;D

Just isn't enough of anything to analyse, is there? I would conjecture that the object was at a fair distance but in the atmosphere; possibly a blimp, possibly dropping flares; who knows?

This video shows several strange things, and I'm not talking about the object. :)
First, when he shows the positions of the stars and the position of the object, he shows the object between the Moon's position and the West, but the video shows a text saying "The Moon is Northwest of this object".
The object passes the clouds (the clouds do not look like they're moving), but it doesn't lose any brightness, like it should if it was passing behind the clouds.
Then there's some text saying "The wobble you are seeing from this object is from my "Electronic Image Stabilizer".. I have the camera on a tri-pod". It's true that we see some overall wobbling of the image, but it looks like the object wobbles more than the clouds.
Then some more text about he being nice and pointing to the wobble.
All that talk looks more like he was directing the viewer's thoughts to something he wanted us to think, and that, usually, means that there's something the person doing that doesn't want us to think. :)
Then he points to the "black spot" in the middle of the object, obviously from the bad focus, but he doesn't talk about the focus.
Then some more strange excuses, "The visibility of this object is harder to view as the sun has set more". Then, that means that the light was sunlight being reflected by the object. But then he adds "So I've decreased the zoom to keep a clear shot of this object..". But now the object is focused, why is he talking about zoom? Nothing appears to change in the zoom. ???
Then a distraction to the West, but when the image returns to the main target of the video, we can see a cut in the video at 08:36.616, which is a little suspicious.
The another text, saying "At this point in the video I'm thinking 'UFO'. It was just to early to have a star out in that position of the sky." He forgot to mention that stars don't move at a speed that made him adjust the position of the camera frequently.
Then some more distracting and useless text.
Then we are seeing what looks to be the same object (but it could be anything), again out of focus, although not as bad as at the beginning. Then, just after the "Here we go", we can see a slight change in brightness (at 00:10:17.850) and the object goes out of focus again, and when it looks better focused it starts to show something like a cloud above (or behind, as it looks like it was moving "down") it, then other bright spots start to appear.
The new objects appear much slower moving than the main object, and all appear behind it, as if dropped.
It's a strange video, but the actions of the guy that made are stranger. :)

You crack Me up, ArMaP. In fact, I though much of the footage was NOT out of focus. [shrug]
