Title: A reminder about the undesirability of doom porn

Bashar here offers an explanation of why it is often a bad idea to publicise information about various things, under the guise of wanting to help people "become informed."  Truthfully I've agreed with this perspective for a while, which is the reason why I try hard not to focus on Fukishima and similar things which are outside my own direct control.

This idea of 'Doom Porn' is a paradox.

In one way, don't scare the masses!

In another, are you suggesting we don't inform the masses?!

Aha.

I deal with Doom Porn all day, every day - I still function relatively normal, shouldn't everyone?

I mean I don't condone those that promote dooming news as 'extra dooming'.

If the news is 'dooming' it's dooming.

Deal with it aye?.. :D

so i guess if the crack head who has a gun pointed at you.i wont tell you.that way you can focus on your own issues.
that sure saves me from making the effort.
the truth is fukushima is murder.just like depleted uranium slugs being shot all over the planet.
our government is murdering people everyday.but some lawyer somewhere will sugar coat it or tell you how thats all gonna change in the future.the truth is way harder to accept.
once you do accept it then you realize the secret service are aiding in this by protecting a murderer.then you realize the attourney general is  a murderer.then youll realize the fbi are not arresting there bosses so they are murderers.the irs collects money for the gov so they are aiding in

and abetting so they are murderers.by taking the pledge of alligience you are a murderer.by taking social security and medicare from a murderer you are a murderer.but then again.better the murderer you know than the devil you dont know.then you realize there is no escape  from all the sheeple who support the murderous treasonous pieces of crap.
and the only way to get rid of them is to kill them but then that makes us look just as bad.whats the answer?dont work.give up all the wealth and priveleges.give up the roof food air conditioning car boat and toys.
then one thinks life aint so bad.until they murder you next.no work .no taxes.no money for them to murder with.sleep well.we can hang together or hang separate but we all gonna hang .

Robomont, I think you've read enough of my posts at this point, to know whether or not I consider the American government, to have a legitimate right to continue to exist.  I really don't feel that I need to defend or justify myself on that score.

In case it isn't clear to anyone else, however; I consider said government to serve virtually no other appreciable function, than as a concentration point and/or special interest group for omnicidal psychopaths.  Said government rules on no other basis whatsoever, than its' capacity to project superior force.  It is, purely and simply, a monopoly of raw violence, that engages in very little genuinely redeemable, beneficial, or justifiable activity of any kind.

The interesting situation with End of the World Doom merchants

If they are wrong, they will be laughed at...

...if they are right no one will be alive to pat them on the back for the warning

For the most part, yes.  I've actually found Bashar extremely empowering.  I would not have been able to make the trip to New South Wales if not for some of what I have learned from him.  He at times has really helped me work with social and other forms of phobia.
