Angelina Jolie undergoes double mastectomy

"My doctors estimated that I had an 87 percent risk of breast cancer and a 50 percent risk of ovarian cancer, although the risk is different in the case of each woman," Jolie wrote. "Once I knew that this was my reality, I decided to be proactive and to minimize the risk as much I could. I made a decision to have a preventive double mastectomy."

I'm with her on this. I would do the same thing in her shoes. She had a high probability of contracting cancer.
She can afford top-notch reconstruction, so you won't miss any cleavage.
Incidentally, this is a fairly common procedure for women at high risk of breast cancer.

i think she already has cancer.she looks ruff and shes having ovaries removed ahead of time?my dad died of stomach cancer and my grandfather lung cancer.im keeping my lungs and stomach.plus nowadays you can take some cancer cells put in some white blood cells.see which cancer dies and extract the white blood cell that are klling it then multiply those cells and reinject into the body.they kill the cancer and the person doesnt have to suffer.

Guess that makes sense now as to why she did what she did. I can't understand how she was able to adopt all those kids with her mental state not in question.

I was only listening to interview tonight with a Ethic's Dr at ST Vincent's Hospital in Sydney where Patient's with Parkinson's Disease have been cured through Stem Cell Treatment.
Yeah so I feel quite ok with stating that Jolie is Insane along with anyone who supports someone who disembodied themselves in the name of "preventive medicine" :D

It's not about being Nasty dude. I think the only thing that could be considered nasty is the fact that some people see how insane it is, and people are taking up the media bandwagon. No CT here, all is stated in the fact's. She Disembodied herself through a statistical percentage which given the rate of success Cancer Research has is really kinda dumb :D

I had a cousin die not from cancer but from the chemo and meds. In the end she couldn;t take the suffering the treatments prolonging the suffering. She stopped taking everything and died after looking like a skeleton of death from pharmacuticles and the chemo.
Having the mams whacked off may cause inflamation and a start of the one thing she is s afraid of.
Many women opt for breast removal to avoid breast cancer. This is not an unusual procedure for women at high risk. I would do the same thing in her shoes.

We don't know what she did and we shouldn't assume we know everything about her situation. She looked very ill last year. I don't think we have the whole story.

That could be very true regarding the whole story...
But according to all reports she did it as a preventive. Which means she did all the same things she would have done if she had have actually HAD BREAST CANCER.
And from all reports in the MEDIA they clearly state she didn't have Breast Cancer...
I get bashed for being the CT guy in my normal life for stating this or that based on what I hear from people who know their stuff in the industry... When I take the high road of using what the media state as official...
