There's a Hole in the Sun, NASA Says

During the latter part of last week, a huge void rotated across the face of the sun.

But never fear, it isn't a sign of the "end times" or some weird sci-fi stellar malnourishment: This particular hole is a coronal hole.

Though it may be a well-known phenomenon, it is noteworthy — it's the largest coronal hole to be observed in the sun's atmosphere for over a year.

Snapped through three of NASA Solar Dynamics Observatory's (SDO) extreme ultraviolet filters, this coronal hole is caused by a low density region of hot plasma.

To me, these words are presented in such a way as would a robot or computer would say it. "Just the facts mam".

If a coronal hole represents the end of the "rifle barrel" for "solar mass shots", one would think we might need to be on alert when it is aimed toward Earth? More especially in this present time of anticipated higher coronal activity!

But nope, we go on with our "eating, drinking, and being merry, and are not told to think about being ready for the "power grid" not being there for us, when we wake up. Yes, there has been mention of potential power grid damage in the news occasionally, but not really in any sort of serious cautionary way!! I guess we will just take whatever comes, when it comes!!  :o

I am not sure how to put this apart from the fact that I like the Fact/or to some Woo Woo, that we may just see these sorta things as an entity on Earth without the tools to recognize as much through our art and literature ;)

NASA and the rest of the Scientific community are scratching the family jewels over this one.
How does a 'centric' nuclear reaction expanding hot gases outwards have a hole in it's corona??????
Maybe because the Sun isn't a nuclear reactor like you think it is, dippoops.
It is an electrical arc, utilising the energy influx from Galactic and extra-Galactic sources.
Instead of researching and experimenting via the 'Scientific Principles', you have instead created a fantasy world of pseudo-science (detached from reality) and a funding cash-cow for your haughty dreams of dominance.
As we all know, those detached from reality soon get a big wake up call, something always comes along and bites them on the butt!
What would a sane person, an educated person do, when faced with amazing new data that brings his theories into doubt??
Oh, yes that's right, create a Media frenzy of frightened worms, scurrying about screaming, "The sky is falling!!!!!".
