i made an animated .gif of a close up of it and highlighted the two objects associated with the weird thread thingy. a rectangular looking structure (yellow) and what appears to be a liquid or vapor coming off of it (light green).

so far the responses are:
-- hair on the lens.
-- scratch on the film.

that follows the contour of the terrain...lol

DO you think you can get the Photo image information Undo? SAT image ID number, where and when it was captured, possibly who is providing this image and where it has been located via the WWW ?

Thanks a Head of time. ;)

As I posted on the other site, to me, it looks like a small fibre that was present during the printing or the processing of the photo, as it doesn't look like it has the same resolution of what we see on the photo and doesn't show signs of being a 3D object, like it would if it was present during the scanning of the original photo.

And I don't think it follows the terrain, although it may look like that in some places it does not in other places.

I downloaded the 6.6 gig file of AS16-P-4095 which is a jpeg2000 file. Viewed it with HiRise software and made the following photo clips and video. I believe it to be a photo glitch as it possess no phyiscal elements, produces no shadows and doesn't follow any natural contours.

When I look at the closeups - it looks exactly like the airbrush tool with sharp edge might look like, and has the flow like someOne made a long stroke, paused and drew some more, as if trying to follow contours.

The rectangular end looks like a piece pasted.

My humble assessment.

Sgt., do you have Lunar coordinates for the anomaly area? I think we can lay this too rest by comparison shopping. ;)

Has to be more of this area captured, and would explain too see if it is still view-able.

I don't think there are other photos of this sequence showing that area, but it looks like the objects appear in the same place on the next photo.

If that's the case then the most likely is that those objects were captured during the scanning process.

Hey kids, I didn't know where to put this so move it if need be.

This guy talks a lot of arse but I found the pipe thing quite interesting.
This may be old hat to you but I thought I'd throw it out there.

It looks to me like some kind of outlet or exhaust?

Anyhow, here it is.
Thoughts?
