QuoteThe last F-117 stealth fighter was retired a few months ago. Most of the fleet is now stationed in a special retirement village all its own at the Tonopah Test Range in Nevada, where they await their fate. This fate. Hopefully, for humanitarian reasons, the first Nighthawk to the slaughter seen here was done privately, quietly, out backāto avoid upsetting the others.

That is a sorry sad state of affairs rite there, an absolutely iconic air craft that deserves a place in all the flight museum's. You would not treat a blackbird like that. I don't get it though I have yet to read the link, I realise it's stealthy frame & coating is treasure to any nation seeking stealth but I assumed most had figured stealth out and the f117 is 1st gen and outdated by today's standard. Can't bare to look.

Dear Brothers and Sisters, we are here tonite to pay tribute to this once noble & beautiful flying machine. Though it may have done bad things in it's life, let us not remember only the bad for within this fine aircraft was also the spirit of flight.
May you find the peace in recyclement that you were not allowed to have in service. - Airmen
