seeker
seen it a few years back.easy for speed readers.
It seems "the other site" has also made a braintest with a new interface... ::)
To me it was a little difficult, probably because I never remember how to write some words and rely on my browser's spell-checker. :)

;D Too easy...need one more like this:

I read it easily, and El, I looked and thought, something's wrong. Read the top lines, got to the third and said, ah HA!
Does anyone know whether the specific language makes any difference - like for instance Spanish - for the brain to be able to do what it does. How about for figure or symbol alphabets? How about Hebrew! How about Chinese or Japanese?
just curious! :))

I'm Portuguese, so I can tell you that this also works in Portuguese, the way the brain works is the same, the only difference is the words. If the person knows the words than they can recognise them.
My elder sister uses a similar trick to write faster (and use less paper): she only writes the consonants, she only writes one vowel if a word can be misinterpreted in that context (sometimes it happens).

In many cases, one symbol is one word, so they cannot be abbreviated or changed in any way, if they are they can become similar to more than one existing symbol or not similar enough to be recognised.
PS: I found this page (http://www.mrc-cbu.cam.ac.uk/people/matt.davis/cmabridge/) that explains it better. :)

You did it the easy way...try saying the COLOR not reading the words.
yes I posted the test on "the other site" years ago.
clever all the same our brain.
Have you seen the old vid of people dancing and a guy in a gorilla suit walks straight through the scene? Only a small percentage of folk see the gorilla. The brain is rather selective on what it engages with.
In my job we have a saying called "hot soapy water".
What it means is when you are conversing with a person, and they are in a heightened state , it could be excitement or calculation or laughter etc.
You can say pretty much ANYTHING to them and they will not hear you.
It's hilarious sometimes.
Try it.

I once did something similar. At the end of a party, everybody was saying their goodbyes, so I tried to see if people were in a kind of a "goodbye mode", in which they all say the same things and expect other people to do the same, so instead of saying goodbye I said something like "god-damn you".
Nobody noticed. :)
Armap, it's so funny we do it pretty much everyday.
Also did you know that people talk to themselves out loud in crowded situations and arnt aware of it!.
It doesn't even have to be very crowded!
A city street midday.
It's fascinating.

I noticed that with my brother when he was playing Doom with the headphones on, as he couldn't hear himself as usual his breathing was noisier and his comments during the playing (usually not that good) were also louder than usual.
Armap, exactly.
We are always protecting ourselves within our perceivable boundaries.
When we go into any degree of stress we chat to ourself.
It's our only lifeline.

Did it first time through bu it was hesitatingly that I did so. It is an interesting challenge.

The only problem I have with that is that I have first to remember how that colour is named in English, I don't have any problem saying the name of the colour in Portuguese. :)
One may find our experiences are based on automatic systems.
The Brain is an automatic "decoder/encoder" (part of the Brains Workings) and the One
which does have options, is NOT the "human species" but the "Watcher"
(sometimes referred to by the ancients) a "Partition of LIFE", or "The Real Self"
NOT part of the Program (Experience of universe) in ancient times sometimes
referred to as The Living One" or "Watcher". (Observer of the world)
Neurologists suggest that decisions (responses) are not made through "Intelligence but rather "Emotion".
In other words a part of our brain involves a processor/s (Automatic) but the "Operator" is Emotional based. :)
