Title: Land Slide in Taiwan - Giant Rock barely misses car
Post by: Gigas on September 02, 2013, 09:05:56 PM
Tropical Storm Kong-Rey rolled over Taiwan earlier this week, leading to widespread flooding in the south and a spectacular landlide with a boulder almost crushing a lucky driver who almost was unlucky.

Land Slide in Taiwan - Giant Rock barely misses car

When I first came to the US there was a similar fall on the way to Snowbird Ski Resort...  but that one the giant rock came straight down on a car with four people in it... They never knew what hit them  crushed the car like tin foil

I saw that on the news (Euronews) on the day after happening, and I think this was posted here one or two days after that. :)

My wife showed me a pic of that rock when that happened but I never sought to find the footage.

Wow thats pretty amazing!  That single rock will be responsible for generations of within that family avoiding visiting Taroko Gorge in Hualien ;)

I've found it. :)

It's this thread (http://www.thelivingmoon.com/forum/index.php?topic=5210.msg70471#msg70471).

PS: Interesting how the title of that YouTube video says "Driver Crushed" but then the description says the truth, that the driver and passenger were only slightly injured. Nothing like a catchy title. ;D

I love the part where the driver with the dash cam
starts backing up the car. Smart driver.  ;D

That was a close call for sure.
