can't wait for something to move at night and see how it works
doin the happy dance here
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Nice, sky! Wish I has such a delightful toy!
Very cool! 8)
Now I can't wait to see some night stuff!
Woot!
Much UFO activity can be seen at night in your "Zenith", (A good reason for this) and up to 22.5°
from the Zenith, 360° around the Zenith, especially between the hours of 11pm and 2am,
because your Zenith is in the Earth's Shadow, so there is NO light from the Sun reflecting off objects
in this area.
At this time one can only see objects emitting light, rather than reflecting light.
The Earths Shadow as you know extends way beyond the orbit of the Moon.
yeah and there is a lot to see here....
so far the only thing i've been able to 'capture' is the blinking satilite..and i blurred that
and using the flashlight to see the dials and settings every other shot
has everything out there crackin up
hubby had to come inside he was laughin so hard
but just you wait..
Cant wait sky!
;D

and all kinds of dials..lol
i was going to do a garden thread the other day but thought it was distracting to the running distracts we were having
got it on sale..they're probably dropping it..lol....i seem to buy orphans
here's a few test shots.. i've been really happy with the daylight stuff
good thing..took me two days to figure out where the flash was..sigh
one of our feral cats we call 'pretty'
..using the zoom..they aren't petable..but they eat well..lol

wow that took forever.. hope not too long
;D
Well sky -
If you don't capture anything interesting around your place, you might want to consider a road trip somewhere, like say maybe NW Utah. ;)
I hear the star gazing is pretty interesting around there these days. ;) :o 8)

Excellent sharpness and color sky!
You say does movies too huh? Nice!
yep 51 movies and can be sent directly to you tube or facebook or other stuff
i have no idea how..yet..
hopefully i will learn in the daylihgt hours..
cause the peanut gallery laughing and my flashlight fumbling is not helpful
and i think i'm pretty much stationary (geeze do i need and a or an e for that..sigh)
i ain't leaving home no more.. worked to hard to get it the way it is
but if i ever do get a movie it will go to you first and you can give instuctions..hows that? ;D
phew.. got it right
a in for staying and e is for paper...lucky me..yeahhhhhhhhhhhh
nice camera sky.i really liked the closeup of the plane.the others were very nice too.
What camera did you get Sky ?
The plane pic at 40x is pretty awesome if I am thinking you got a small point and shoot style cam!!!
Nice pics. Pretty is very pretty. The deer has that "deer in the headlights" look. Maybe you need a miner's hardhat with a headlamp. Or maybe one of those little headband flashlights.
Shasta
Nice tool for the job. The aeroplane shot is particularly sharp which means you have the knack of holding the camera really still! Brilliant post.
FB!
dang Shasta.. i have both of those
big thanks
now i'm thinking of the v8 commecial
oh and soma.. the info is directly above the pics..cause seeker asked before

otter, you jogged my memory; I have a camera I bought last summer at the flea market for $20 still sealed in the box; took it to vegas last year on holloween, took shots of JL and of his den with it, down loaded them on my laptop and forgot about it...
just pulled the box out and it is a Fuli Film finepix jz100...14 megapixel, 8x wide angle optical zoom, and it says it does HD movies, too...
what got me was the fact that it has been lying there since last october and it still had some juice in the battery; got it on charge right now...
think I need to start carrying it with me; I do work right down the road from Dobbins AFB and have all kinds of planes and choppers flying around...
isn't it amazing how things are...
seeker
ah seeker
wow ..that's great....maybe we need to start a 'things we see in the sky' thread..hahahah
we started the day by being jarred outta bed with a close fly over of a helicopter..back and forth
and we jumped up with..what the hell?..luckiy I had decent jammies on to go outside cause I grabbed the camera and headed out
boy do I need to figure out some stuff
anyway..here's our early morning visitor..they went back and forth for a good half hour..we figured it had to be the power company checking
the big lines that run to the mill
(http://i72.servimg.com/u/f72/13/55/53/83/fly_0011.jpg)
there were more jets today than I have seen in a long long time..and some prop planes.. the one late in the afternoon seemed to be circling
(http://i72.servimg.com/u/f72/13/55/53/83/04710.jpg)

and they seemed to be trying to lay down some chem trails..some were normal but a bunch weren't
but they weren't sticking...

wow, that's a coincidence. My wife just bought the same exact camera this week... it's a very nice rig.
I was looking at a DSLR, but after playing around with this one I think it'll do for what I need.
hey rogue
share some pics if you can....and if you are a camera buff maybe some insight into the use of the
movie mode ..
mine came with an 8gb memory card..which is great for me cause i can't seem to stop taking pics of everything
SKY thats impressive snapping there ;)
nice aviation shots. cool toy.
thanks stealthy
it's more the camera than me.. i have found the more light the more stable the pic..
the night shots have not been coming out..even on a tripod...
but i'm working on it..sooner or later i will find what works for a good night shot
but the color is really good..even if the composition needs work ;)
look at these....i'm very happy with it and kinda curious how they would print out

The more light the less time (faster shutter speed) it needs to create an image. :)
What mode are you using?

I'm planning on using it to "film" part of our car show cruise night in a couple of weeks.
i'm hoping to get about a half hour of video to play with. I just have to improvise a steady camera mount for the car.
wish I had something more exciting to film. seems the UFOs stay away from Kansas ;D
rogue
really if you haven't seen the demo go check it out..see below i posted the link
well these look good on my computer screen but not sure what will show here...I can't see to make the photo the size I want to post
it's the moon and a satelite right beside it..reg view then zoom..no tripod..wow

anywho
in looking for a photo to answer ArMaP's question I stumbled on gold.. can't believe I didn't see it before
go to this link and click on
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Fujifilm---FinePix-S8200-16.0-Megapixel-Digital-Camera---Black/8264494.p?id=1218868674606&skuId=8264494#tab=overview
and click on see demo down under the view of the camera
it plays a description of the features..waaahooo
ArMaP I have been using all the settings just to see what I can get and I honestly don't know which
I had it set on for those pics but probably one of the two auto settings
well I may as well confess now but I really haven't done my homework on what was what as far as features go
but I have been reading boxes and prices when in stores..
this one was on sale at a really good price and as I read the features.. I just felt it was what I wanted
so it's really turning out to be a win-win
yep go with your gut every time
;D
i'm really doin the happy dance now
;D
The pictures are astounding, sky. I battle envy, I do, both for the camera and the artist that is using it. [smile]
If I could take a photo of Saturn and the bigger satellites orbiting it with a 24x zoom, I suppose you can get much better photos. :)
PS: Look for the ISS, it's a little hard to photograph because it's too fast, but with a 40x zoom (ignore the digital zoom) you can (theoretically) get very good photos.
I was thinking about you and your camera yesterday morning. We had some fog and a lot if low level clouds. The lights from the central Denver area were being reflected back by low level clouds, creating an almost spectral skyline. It would have been a great picture. I did however, deem it unwise to try to capture it with the cellphone camera while driving on I-70 during rush hour.
