They tell me that space is has an electrical impedance of 300 ohms! (Impedance is like "resistance" but for alternating currents)
They also tell me that the earth is charged to some hoary negative value, MAYBE 14Million volts negative WRT space.
Assuming a long time in space and an alien spacecraft taking on the "charge" value of space, then yes, I'd expect to see some arcing and sparking if you didn't come in nice and slow. (Nice and slow, sufficient to allow charge equalisation might be very fast in our normal terms, of course, but ufo's are really fast from what I've heard..)
Course, this is only my guess, there is probably a completely different explanation for that photo.
Is there a prize for best guess?
Fruitbat.
Very interesting image there Zorgon, really perplexing for sure.

Yes, I have heard this as well FB, I was doing research with in the CMB (Cosmic Microwave Back Round) and looking for tell's of viscosity with in the Ether as a form of static or potential electrical capacitance and there by leading to Impedance and resistance. Though the research is still incomplete as of right now, I do believe your understanding of this to be factual with in real world scenario and scientific applications.
I took it upon myself to 'Zoom' the image to 400% & Inverted Color Scheme from original, and there are a few things that really stuck out for me.

First of all (The Red Arrow) there seems to be something on top and in the leading edge of the craft captured, looks very similar to an advanced "Jacobs Ladder" which we used with in our school days of understanding electricity. But, this is what I see, I leave all that I have marked to be judged by the viewer of this thread.
Secondly- (The Yellow Arrow) Shows equal displacement with in ambient light discharge, this helps me conclusively deduce this is a real Lightning Strike image, it follows the plain of ambient light quite nicely, so if this is a fake, they took there time getting it pretty accurate for the hoax. IMHO
(Blue Arrows) When I had Inverted and then Zoomed image, there are Straggle lightning appendages coming from main Lightning bolt/Strike body, though it is a bit hard to see with in the original, the Inverted image shows this as a barley legible signature with in the image, but it is there, none the less. Something that helps validate the image even more.
(Pink Arrow) Here is a very interesting area of the lightning bolt easily identified as passing behind the High Lines in front of the image, there is a clear space here where back round and foreground are determinable and also validates the image as a genuine Lightning bolt caught on Image. Really strange how it is all so corresponding from one area to another , which in all actuality, helps validate the image as a "Strong Candidate" for being an "Actual Photo" of a UFO and Lightning Strike.
regardless, the image captured is intriguing for sure Zorgon, Too bad we don't have Deuem here as o fright now,. I can forward the image to him via Email, but he has been in the middle of the move from his old too new place, so may be redundant at this time to send it his way, I have saved the image though, and when he gets on line with us again, will forward this to him with other thing's we need his research done on with his "Deuem Process" .
Any more thoughts from you Zorgon on this image, as far as being "real Deal" or "Hoax" ?

I'm not that sure about those appendages, as the images has too many compression artefacts, and one of the things the JPEG algorithme uses is changing the colours of some pixels to makes us interpret that area as if it was something different.
But I agree with everything you said. :)
