A woman believed to be a dental hygienist from Stamford, Conn., was shot dead by police today after allegedly attempting to ram the White House gates and leading authorities on a high-speed chase to the U.S. Capitol, officials said.
The related gunfire sent senators and staffers scrambling inside the Capitol, which was put under lockdown.
Authorities believed the dead suspect was Miriam Carey, 34, according to a spokesman for Carey's family. Authorities said she had a history of mental health issues, and her mother told ABC News she suffered from post-partum depression.
A female child approximately 1 year old was found unhurt in the suspect's car, authorities said.
A police bomb squad was outside a Stamford apartment tonight that authorities say is connected to the investigation. Police there said they were awaiting a search warrant from Washington, though 50 people from the apartment building already were being evacuated for the night. In addition, anyone who walked into the hallway outside the apartment was going through a decontamination procedure out of an abundance of caution, officials said.
Police said there were no weapons found in Carey's car.
I don't know how much more of this I can take, psychologically. It seems every time I go to Reddit, now, there is more of this waiting for me. There was another story earlier with a former director of the NSA, "joking," about having Edward Snowden put on a kill list. There is endless news about how the environment is collapsing; and person after person after person is being either arrested, or shot, for what in the past would have been complete non-crimes.
The worst part, the part that I really can not take, is the Good Germans. The endless parade of quislings, and shills, and rationalisers, and apologists for the government's position, who maintain that nothing is sacrosanct, and everything must be relinquished to government, in order for people to be kept safe, and "protected."
Ultimately, however, the question becomes this. Protected from WHAT???
Would the mythical "terrorists," really be treating you worse than this, Americans? Would they be tazing you to death? Yes, there have been Islamic attrocities recently, but the reality is that Western governments honestly are not treating people any better, in many cases, than Islamic militants themselves.
Is this really what humanity is going to come down to? Is it really going to end like this? Did we go through who knows how many millions of years of evolution, and achieve everything else we have, only for such an ignominious and pointless suicide as this?
Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe as a species, this really is all we deserve. Maybe the universe really will be better off without us. If this is all we are capable of doing to ourselves, and each other, I can't ultimately see much of any real value being lost.
I guess someone is having a rough day. Ok, sign onto the Chinese internet every day where you can't read anything so nothing bothers you. I do that everyday. Sldo the ZTV has no worries for me because I can't understand a word they are saying. Only understand the pics. The only news I ge is here and my email account. So little in lessens the worries.
Cheer up petrus, it won't last forever. We have but such a short time here to see the mess on our garbage planet. Maybe next time will be a great garden with flowers everywhere and free everything........

Online communities, like their physical version, show what their members prefer, so I guess that Reddit likes that type of thing, while here on Pegasus we have a different (although not as different as I would like :) ) take on things.
Don't let Their psyops get to You, Petrus. This too was designed to elicit emotion. Whether anyOne died or not, the focus is a clue that They are using the incident(s) to cause trauma.
