Title: Weird Object Floating Around The ISS!
Post by: Mikesingh on January 11, 2012, 06:01:59 AM
Ok, guys, here's something that'll probably make you burn scarce midnight oil!  Here are two images of the ISS. Do you notice anything strange here? Like something floating outside the ISS? I'll eat my Mexican hat if you can!!

Now check out this second pic which I have enhanced by adding contrast and brightness. Now do you see it?

So, the question is: WTF is it??

Ah, an ISS module just floating around? Which one? If it was, then why can't it be seen in the first photograph in normal mode? It's only when the image is enhanced does this object show up. And then, are modules just dumped outside to float free which could be rather dangerous? Are shadows playing tricks or is there more than meets the eye here?

And of course, it's impossible to tell the distance. Could be a few feet to a few miles. Anyway, here's the ISS as seen from the other side. No such module (If it is one) can be seen here....

Damn! I didn't know the ISS had disposable trash cans too!  ;)

Cheers!  :)

It's so hard to say what that is.  If it's very near the camera then it's just a small piece of debris.   My gut feeling is that it is larger but there's no logic behind it...

That is an interesting object.  outta box maybe there are more sensitive related pods attached not to be seen.  Especially if sensitive technologies are being shared and engineered.  interesting catch!

You mean some sort of 'cloaking technology'? Because you can't see the darn thing in normal light!

But the real problem is we don't know its distance from the camera. Could be a few inches to a couple of miles or more! But if it was near the camera, or near the ISS then it would have been in the visible spectrum as the light conditions/intensity would be similar.

That means this object is probably miles away. If so, then it's mind bogglingly huge!!   :o
