A video recently posted to YouTube shows what appears to be a flaming fireball blazing through the sky and dropping into the village of Akureyri, Iceland. The bright object was caught on a webcam overlooking the town. The uploader, Bjarki Mikkelsen, suggests the strange ball of light could be a drone or manmade experiment. What do you think it is? Curious, it acts almost like a slow motion meteor. ???
Wouldn't it be pretty easy for a local to figure out where that site is it landed at? I mean, really... SOMEOne must have a clue on this planet.
ok.. this is all i could find..i'm thinking it didn't happen as stated..maybe some computer whiz can see if it's fake....

Strange light ball. Akureyri Iceland. English-Dansk.
Sat on my chair and studied a live webcam on Iceland in the city Akureyri. I got the movie live at that time d 29 September 2013 and discovered a strange glowing ball falling from the sky. It's not a helicopter or a plane, clear to see. I have had the opportunity to believe it is a kind of drone. The ball lands in a garden and you can see that it is as if there is a fire in a short time just after it landed or dropped. I do not know what it is but it looks quite interesting. Maby something climate experimental, military...

Ufo sighted in Akureyri Iceland
According to icelandic media DV http://www.dv.is/ a Ufo was sighted in the town of Akureyri, a man who whishes to remain anonymous called the police about a circular object of extra terrestrial origins floating in the sky in front of cliffs just outside the town limits.
Officers that were dispatched to the scene quickly figured out the truth however and according to Sigurdur Sigurdsson chief of police in Akureyri it was merely a Paraglider called Ingvi Vaclav Alfredsson a music teacher.
"I am not an alien"
Ingvi the alleged Ufo later said. "I was flying quite high so it was understandable that the man could not see clearly what was going on.
He also had this to say:
"But I can confirm that I am from this earth despite the fact that I might speak with a somewhat weird accent!"
I noted that the glow pulses, and after landing One can still make out a pulsing of light, though the object itself is not directly seen.
Struggling to believe this was a "drone" (in essence), or a hang-glider, or a condor or a pterodactyl or a kite or swamp gas.
It may be a hoax - one well done with the reflected light even on the ground...but if it is, I don't see it with My meager abilities.

I can not tell what it is but can say a little, This is from Z's screen capture right on top, used Night time to process. It is very bright and the black marks around it are camera failures because of the exposure. What you can really see in the upper left is the trail it left in the sky. The trail went right out of frame. It shows a desending object for sure. I would say this is in camera and not added later. It has atmospheric disturbance, to the top side only. The bottom is still clean. Again like it is falling a little from the left to right. I thought it might be a flare but I see nothing dropping. Are there any drops in the vid? The ring pattern looks like a very bright light that has been altered by the pixels and compression. Thinking magnesium or something like that.

Time lapse camera perhaps?
watch the vehicles moving on the street; they appear to move in normal manner, yet the object is moving slowly...
as armap said, a slow motion meteor...
makes me wonder if it is related to this...

Hi Sky,
In the Deuem book of silly things, I would say that it is very possible that the human eye might not pick this up at all and only a camera could pick it up. So it could do this in broad daylight and no one would see it. Sort of like once it is on film I can pick out things with the program the eyes can't see. So electronics and our eyes are very different in what they see. There is more to come on this, Not finished yet. Very interesting.... ps, I can not find any hang gliders!

From what I have seen, only near infrared light is captured by digital cameras and not by human vision, and it appears as whitish pink/violet.
That is interesting footage for sure.

The object has atmospheric interference and changes it's power level as it id coming down.
I can find nothing inside it such as a hang glider or a paracute. If it is a RC coppter then it is leaving an effect on the sky 100 times it's size. The color is white anf pinkish with traces of violet, This object might not have been seen by eye. If it did catch the ground on fire someone might notice that but that is a big maybe. You might think some kids were playing around.
