"SCIENTISTS FIND SECOND, 'HIDDEN' LANGUAGE IN HUMAN GENETIC CODE"
As this article details, all of what science has been doing with the use of the "deciphered genetic code" has been with only 1/2 of the design. They have been missing "half of the picture" while trying to "make things better". No wonder that there is so much more sickness and Dr. visits with our grand kids, than we ever had with our own kids!
Doesn't this make us really feel better about all of the "GMO stuff"?? :P :P
U.S. geneticists say a second code hiding within DNA changes how scientists read its instructions and interpret mutations to make sense of health and disease.
Since the genetic code was deciphered in the 1960s, scientists have assumed it was used exclusively to write information about proteins, but University of Washington scientists say they've discovered genomes use the genetic code to write two separate "languages." (See link for full report)
https://www.washington.edu/news/2013/12/12/scientists-discover-double-meaning-in-genetic-code/
I was initially going to say "this isn't really a "whoos", it's the natural progression of science and finding the pieces to put together." Then I read:
Quote"The fact that the genetic code can simultaneously write two kinds of information means that many DNA changes that appear to alter protein sequences may actually cause disease by disrupting gene control programs or even both mechanisms simultaneously," said Stamatoyannopoulos.
Then I think "Ahhh, whoops!"
It is an interesting article. They are being a bit sneaky getting a paper in Science for it though.
Basically physical differences in the DNA structure (which different duons cause) were already known to be important in controlling gene expression. It has been a buzz topic in molecular genetics for a while. It is because the physical changes alter the proximity of bits of DNA within the nucleus to the machinery that makes DNA express itself. By changing a duon you do not change the coding sequence but you alter expression levels.
My supervisor/boss last year talked to us about is as soon as we arrived on the project so it not something new but it is definitely something important.
It is good to see you guys showing an interest in this stuff.
Pimander .i didnt know you were into genetics.
jumping in here with an opinion..
I feel they will find that dna can express itself in even more than two ways.. perhaps even infinite ways
but
by what command does it move ? ..how are the choices in expression made?
is it happenstances - as in parental? circumstances - as in environment..
pre arranged – as in chosen before the meat suit is applied?
and then of course the questions of - can you switch it's expression
I say YES to all of the above.
while dna fascinates me I bailed when they wanted me to learn how to do sequencing in the lab..
at the time I didn't want to work making the gels..too many chemicals
but since then I wonder about my choice and think it may have been something else
even though we werent working with human dna
the something else being that the experimentor by observation does change the experiment
this is a fact I have had first hand knowledge of (long stories) and know to be true
(unless the observed plays a hand..sorry different subject -going off course on myself here)
but then again..perhaps no so far fetched..
can prayer..meditation make those changes?
I think science is finally coming into the metaphysics field
..not there yet and since most scientists are totally anal it will take much longer
for 'scientific' proof
one study linked here is pointing to the control unit of dna changes

all of matrix stuff comes into play with this
as well as
what has been know by secret societies and some monks and some current practitioners...
it used to be called magic
when it is really only us learning our powers
sorry for the ramble..maybe.. ;)

Pimander .i didnt know you were into genetics.
I don't discuss it often on forums.
Sky, I think there is a lot more to learn about the DNA molecule. It does have some mysterious properties. :)

Indeed...
And what forms the Chemical based programs such as DNA, RNA etc ?
What controls the programming rules and where does this control come from and more to the point
HOW ?
Few changes produce the differences between the species so what is all the components shared between the species about ?
Once scientists on earth believed much was just junk, but have since recognised their error in this assumption.
The Genome is a fascinating area and "human based science" has barely scratched the surface of this subject. :)
While doing plasma energy experiments in space...
Russians discovered that the energy forms a double helix... I will find that video
The Kirlian photo using a Tesla coil under a Pyramid of the proportions of the GP produces a double helix beam
Food for thought :D

I say YES to all of the above.
Sky,
Fantastic post, I must agree 100%.
There will be trade offs in the future as science
comes to unlock the dna/genome, your comments
highlight the bright side.

"Dust in Plasma organizes into double helix" - Wow Z and starwarp2000, that is one pretty remarkable thing. I am no science guy, but my guess is that this fact is not being taught in school yet. Just great information of factual discovery "off-world" (interstellar dust/plasma) discovery!!.
Something like this might just cause re-consideration by the computer programmers/hologramers with their thoughts on life.

Jacob's Ladder ? ? ?
The "double helix" is like a twisted "ladder".

From my stint in teaching I know that not much is taught about plasma in school - at least not in the UK.
Yup Starwarp found that video :D
