ICE AGE IS A COMMIN!!@!
For a HUNDRED AND TWELVE (112) years it hasn't snowed a single snowflake in Egypt!!! And now this!

Snow in Cairo for the first time in 112 years (http://www.news.com.au/travel/world-travel/snow-in-cairo-for-the-first-time-in-112-years/story-e6frfqc0-1226783028022)
So is there an ice age every 112 years? When the snow gets to the top of those pyramids I will get worried. Man it looks cold there. A lot of sleeping with Camels tonight. In the north it is a 3 dog night, I wonder how many camels it would take. But last I heard they started to eat or shot them because of no tourest money. Ciro is in a mess...Where did you make get the photo from?
Silly Deuem
I see it is 12C/42F today with a 83% chance of snow. Time to ski the pyrmaid. Wooohoooo!

What the frig? :o lol
Only if it's a local Ice Age, no snow here in Portugal. :)
I wonder if the snow in Egypt and Israel is just incidental, or does it have a lot to do with the fact that the "Sun's Current Solar Activity Cycle Is Weakest in a Century".
Oh, but of course, it is simply a result of global warming, and we are going to have 30 years of such weather, as has already been prophesied by global warming advocates!! :P

2012 is coming at you :P
Japanese theme park which should have snow :D

There was a mini ice age in Europe that saw the invention of the Fireplace in castles, window panes and tapestrries on the now cold castle walls
Krakatoa was 1883... I will have to see what was going on in 1901 because I just found this
Netherlands – Coldest May 23 since 1901
by ROBERT on MAY 23, 2013QuoteIn 112 years it has not been this cold on May 23 as it was today. So says Weatherplaza. In parts of Noord-Brabant and Limburg it did not get warmer than 8 degrees, in Noord-Holland and Friesland 11 degrees.
In the Noordoostpolder it was the warmest with 11,7 degrees. For a long time the cold record from May 23, 1975 seemed to be broken. That day it did not get any warmer than 10,4 degrees in De Bilt. But because around 18:20 the temperature shortly rose to 10,5 degrees, so that record still holds.
The reason that you were wearing probably a winter coat today is polar air that has invaded our country. Also the North Sea water was colder than normally, so this could not warm the incoming air. According to Weatherplaza this weekend it is not getting any better. Next week temperatures will be rising a little bit, but it stays clearly much colder than normal.

Arctic polar sea ice increased 50% over last year!!! Is ice age returning? Well, when we see evidence that the amount of ice is growing.........., what might be a logical answer to that question?
http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Peace/2013/12/17/CryoSat-Satellite%20-Findings-Arctic-Ice-Increase
CRYOSAT SATELLITE FINDS ARCTIC ICE INCREASED 50% IN VOLUME
Polar sea ice increased 50% over last year, growing from 6,000 to 9,000 cubic kilometers when compared to the same period in 2012. Moreover, this year's multi-year ice is 30 cm thicker than last year, and scientists claim that thick, multi-year ice indicates healthy Arctic sea-ice cover.
The results were revealed by the European Space Agency (ESA) CryoSat satellite mission. The CryoSat-2 was launched in April 2010 and is designed to measure sea-ice thickness across the entire Arctic Ocean. The satellite's findings indicate that the volume of Arctic sea ice has increased substantially.
These findings prove to be at odds with Al Gore's predictions back in 2009 when he spoke at the United Nations Climate Change Conference. Gore stated that computer models reflect "that there is a 75% chance that the entire north polarized cap during some of the summer months could be completely ice free during the next 5-7 years."
Past satellite missions showed a decline in Arctic Ocean ice over the last few decades. However, the actual volume of sea ice has proven difficult to determine because it moves around, so its thickness can change. The CryoSat-2 satellite has provided Scientists with information that, for the first time, allows them to accurately measure ice thickness.
"We didn't expect the greater ice extent left at the end of this summer's melt to be reflected in the volume. But it has been, and the reason is related to the amount of multi-year ice in the Arctic," said Rachel Tilling from the UK's Center for Polar Observation and Modeling, who spearheaded the study.
Climate Change advocates still warn that this increase in ice volume does not indicate a reversal in the long-term trend. CryoSat-2 measurements demonstrate that the Earth's climate might not be warming, but it is changing.
Well hell. So do I need to turn the thermostat up or down? I'm confused!

You're confused but with a thermostat, many people are confused without having that luxury.

don't need that word.
Yes I agree, I have no thremostat either. Seems we are getting what ever mother nature want to dish out these days. Still intersted if Z can find any 112 year patern back further. And relate it to something. Maybe a Sun wobble? A solor system wobble?

I did some searches but couldn't find any thing that could be related to that.
Unless this is a hoax...and I am missing something...Thanks for alerting us to this "Z"...
I have not watched the TV news or read any newspapers in full detail in the last few days....so this is the first time of becoming aware about it.
I have to say it is quite a shock / surprise :o :o :o to see the Spinx and Pyramids covered in White snow and not just yellowish/brown or whatever color of the desert surroundings sand is..
Never thought that I (We )would see that in my (Our) life time..
It must be a REAL shock to the system of Egyptian people who are used to a permanent warm climate..
Of course, no real way to know about the start of the next ice age, unless, as Z suggests, it could be a "violent start", with severe cold coming upon places of the Earth very quickly. I believe part of the basis for that thought is that frozen animals who were a part of such violent "freeze" have been found with undigested food in their stomachs.WOW! That's quick. If the start of an ice age is not violent, then we can suppose the possibility of being into it considerably, before it actually is being recognized by even the experts.
Glacier ice can possibly be a key to our understanding when an ice age is getting started. If we even read a little on "glaciers", we find that the last "ice age" was 10,000 to 15, 000 years ago, as sources differ on that. One source says "today about 10% of Earth's land mass is covered with glacier ice".
In terms of volume, the world's glaciers, ice caps, and permanent snow hold 5,773,000 cubic miles of water. That only represents 1.7% of the world's total water, but it is close to 70% of the world's total freshwater. When glaciers covered 33% of the land on Earth during the last ice age, the sea level was much lower than it is today–approximately 400 feet lower. The last time the Earth went through a period of warming, sea level was 18 feet higher.
I just mention this a little, to remind us that glaciers seem to go hand and hand with the coming of the ice ages and also with their goings.

Some interesting facts and info Rdunk,
After the Global warming warnings within the last 10 to 20 years or so..where we were informed to try and be convinced to believe that the world would warm up due to Human related activity, be it Industry ,overpopulation etc.. looking at some of the other facts that you posted about the Artic Ice as shown below...If this is truth...I am not sure if this is being thrown back to Al Gore and the World to see to reconsider..
If Global warning had occurred..It may be hard to determine what could actually happen.
I recall seeing a Scientific TV program a few years ago (In last 10 yrs ) that suggested that if the Icecaps melted that this upon altering the sea temperatures in turn alters the air temp and conditions such as the Gulf Stream.. and this could make certain previous warmer southern countries in the European and Mediterranean zones become cooler..and that temperatures could infact become severely cold in these areas within 20 years..which at the time seemed hard to believe..
Whats happening now may not be down to human global warming, but just Astronomical reasons that can be hard to predict or determine.
I suspect Solar activity could possibly alter things very quickly..and it was predicted that we would see unusual solar activity around 2012..
and we have seen quite unusual solar activity within the last few years.
so I wonder if this could be why we are seeing this happen.
I may have also read somewhere that Comets can effect the worlds weather conditions.. with the recent passing comet.. I wonder !

I haven't seen any references to Egypt on the news, but I saw that it snowed in Syria.
QuoteIt must be a REAL shock to the system of Egyptian people who are used to a permanent warm climate..
They do not have a pemanently hot climate, that's a misconception, the lowest temperatures in winter are close to 0º C.
Hi Artmap,
Thanks for confirming your view on ref to Egypts weather news.
With certain similar or close by Countries maybe it depends.
Yes I think when it comes to Africa most people do think all year hot climate... but thinking about it many if not Most Mediterranean countries do not, so Parts of Egypt are on the Med and other parts may not be thought that much further south of it.
With Syria, I think that is quite Mountainous in parts so high country often has snow even in hot counties. I am not aware that Egypt has mountains...
But certainly I think Cairo is on low ground where the Pyramids and Spinx is...
I do now recall seeing one weather forecast last week that showed certain parts of eastern and Southern Europe which I think included Greece and Turkey quite cold while the western parts were mild.. so maybe that cold did cross the Med to Egypt !
But I cannot undertand it if its not been on major TV news as yet !
