Title: pICTURES
Post by: guerande on January 30, 2014, 07:42:37 PM
Hello ,

A question without answer , for me :

We have had gazillion of pictures of the Moon , astronauts , LM , etc ...

But I have never seen any film/picture of the men back from Moon
in the ship waiting them to go bach to Earth ? Why ?

I think it would have been great to film the rendez-vous between the very tired
Moon-walkers and the one waiting up to bring them back home with Apollo , no ?

Don't know if I'm clear enaugh , but waiting for explanation , if possible  : )

Other rendez-vous were filmed , but I can't remember any between
LM back to Apollo , I'm I wrong ?

Thanks for yr help !

The Internet Archive has videos made from the 16 mm movie camera they had on board, just look for them here (https://archive.org/search.php?query=collection%3Anasa-apollo-multimedia-gallery&sort=-publicdate). :)

I haven't seen them all, but I have see at least two with the approach of the LM until it docks. I haven't seen any video or photo with the astronauts entering the service module (I think that's the name), but they were probably busy with the operations and had nobody else to take the photos.

Greetings fellow Pegasorian

Well they have video of the lander dropping away down to the surface which is probably fake. They may not have video of the rendezvous of the ascending lem meetin up with the command capsule and docking. I never seen it but I am sure some one can prove me wrong by showing it as it happened. Which doesn't prove it did happen, and there by they only have some made for tv video showing how it happened.

Now, you have to take in consideration the ascent module had to precisely time its take off to match the fly by of the command module and, brake from shooting straight out into space, than maneuver the capsule sideways to fire that 10 thousand pound rocket again even though its fuel is almost depleted from take off, and match the many thousand per hour speed the command module is flying around the moon.

Not to brush off that sun radiation should have baked everyone real good and maybe melt some stuff while in the sun or maybe you know how hot and cold acts upon man made surfaces shrinking and expanding from heat to cold to heat and other scientific reasons that contradict apollo.

Anyway, that's what I think since you asked.

Thanks . I'll look at he Armap video .
In fact I was   speaking of the men entering the command module ,  after
the locking with capsule , and all the very difficult technical operations
about the locking .
I thought the command module pilot would have been happy to film his
friends coming back , as we had seen them with Gemini , or rendez vous
with the Russians ...

It's an important moment of the travel , isn't it ?

Will be back later !

PS : anybody knowing something about John  ?    I don't dare sending mail
to him , as I know his health isn' t up   ?     and  if  he his able to type .

@Armap :

Have had a fast look at all the videos concerned : none of them showing
any entrance of the team  aboard the command ship . Funny , isn't it  ?  :)

But it's showing that they do have cameras in the command capsule .
I don't know why , but this lack of image seem  " bizarre  " to me !
But maybe I'm wrong ...

Armap , can you tell me where you are living in Portugal ?
For me , your country is the nicer in Europe , after France , of course !  :)
I have been working a long time in Lusitania ! and loved people and
food too . Baccalhao , Hmmmm   !

Almada, on the other side of the Tagus river, overlooking Lisbon. :)
