I am sure we wish him well....Live Long and Prosper !

It's too late for Leonard Nimoy, but he wants his fans to know that they should quit smoking now.
The 82-year-old actor, who's played the iconic role of Spock in "Star Trek" TV shows and movies since 1966, has revealed that he has chronic obstructive pulmonary disease from his days as a smoker.
"I quit smoking 30 yrs ago. Not soon enough. I have COPD. Grandpa says, quit now!! LLAP" he wrote on Twitter, referencing the traditional Vulcan salutation, live long and prosper.
COPD is a disease that makes it increasingly difficult to breathe, according to the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute. Patients who have it often have the conditions of emphysema and chronic bronchitis, and experience tightening of the chest, shortness of breath, and other symptoms. Cigarette smoking is the leading cause of COPD, which is now the third leading cause of death in the United States.

I thank him for his concern.
But.they were making fiberglass and asbestos cigarette filters back then.nowadays they make firesafe cigs.i smoke neither on a regular bases.ive been exposed to silica and tons of pot smoke.my dad and sister both died of cancer at a young age.i dont expect to.live much longer.im 46.if i begin to suffer too much i will eat a bullet.no problem.but i choose to live life to the fullest i can until then.and tobacco is a pleasure of mine.i lived more in the last 46years than most folks live in three lifetimes and i believe in reincarnation.i hope to be the oldest man to ever live but i realize thats wishful thinking.
So his opinion will not influence my opinion.but i do look up to him.
Live long and prosper, , , and in moderation in all things. :)

Gold for You, Robo. If They stopped steeping tobacco in carcinogens, growing it in radioactive "fertilizer," and used something non-carcinogenic for filters (they use fiberglass still), tobacco would cause no more cancer than campfires. And likely Your cannabis indulgences will help stave off the big C. Research suggests it will...
EDIT to add: Also... Nicotine counters the effects of fluoride...
You are all free to fill your lungs with any smoke you wish...
...just keep your smoke to yourself :P

You would be transgendered?!?!?!
'The results do not support a causal relation between environmental tobacco smoke and tobacco related mortality, although they do not rule out a small effect. The association between exposure to environmental tobacco smoke and coronary heart disease and lung cancer may be considerably weaker than generally believed.'
"And a German study on passive smoke, cancer and cardiovascular disease says: NO CONNECTION ... The second-hand smoke 'studies' represent to date the best example of junk science and misrepresentations of evidence ever seen."
There was a German study some years ago that monitored passengers on airline fights where smoking was permitted. The study monitored fight crews for a 10 year study and found no evidence of 'second hand' smoke causing anything out of the ordinary. People who got cancer were not noticeably higher than someone not exposed to second hand smoke.
It's all BS...(IMO)
I for one prefer clean fresh air rather than dirty air with smoke particulates and chemicals in it. Much like my water being chemical free. Common sense.

Of course, no one is saying its not smelly and uncomfortable. It's just not having the health effects they say it does...
