Title: The DIY Engineer Who Built a Nuclear Reactor in His Basement
Post by: COSMO on March 06, 2014, 10:17:29 AM
I know the FUSOR is nothing new, but I found this article and a link to the guys forum about his work on it.  Thought some might find his forum interesting...

Well if he vapourises the street, i don't think the neighbours would find it funny :D

i wonder what he's using for fuel?

If anyone has the time, please check out his forum.
Maybe we could 'assimilate' him........... 8)

Hmm, could be an early model Transfusor then....

Seems he's got the whole thing in a vac chamber, wonder why he did that?

Plans, we want plans ::) ;D

Very cool technical forum.  Anyone who's a tinkerer and builder could kill hours there.

Very interesting.

Notice all the different geometries used.
Spheres, toroids, Linear (or beam-on-beam) types.

He's using a sphere, hence the big chamber, now i understand....

Tokamaks are by far the most complex & expensive, i know of at least 20 designs.
Linear ones are also very interesting, and pretty easy to build.

I would join that forum but i might get lost in there, LOL
