Title: Inside the Laurel Canyon Hippiefest, Psyops style.
Post by: Littleenki on April 30, 2014, 03:58:04 PM
I think many here, especially music buffs from the 60s and 70s will enjoy this in depth and fun read from Dave McGowan, a great investigative journalist for our times..regarding the theoretical view of how and why the hippie movement was formulated and executed with style, symbology, and a poopload of blood, fire and guts.

His main site is www.davesweb.cnchost.com

The Laurel Canyon story begins here... http://www.davesweb.cnchost.com/nwsltr93.html

Enjoy!

I have followed Daves writings for a long time and thoroughly enjoyed his laurel canyon piece. He removed some of it since he revamped it into a book with additional writing.

The one thing the reader notices if they are paying attention is, all of these laurel canyon people seem to have background with military parents. Its like the off spring are handed fame and fortunes for the parents participation with the military industrial complex and its subsidiaries.

Reading the stories was mind bending how these different lives came together in a place that has weird history to begin with.

I want to get the book and it just came out not long ago.

Glad to hear that, Gigas, his approach is very appealing to the reader in me, too!

I have the book...signed...on the way..hope to get it by next week.

Cheers!
