Title: Peggy Rules
Post by: Elvis Hendrix on June 20, 2014, 09:29:18 PM
We all dip in and out of where we are comfortable. Some are far better than others.
I always think that the things that I find should be shared, but then I worry that it's already last years news.
Anyhoo, for the last couple of months  I have been delving into the world of Sasquatch . And it's a big world of big personalities .
The history is what I've been most intrigued by.
Alaska seems to ring true to moi.
I'm totally digging this animal and if anyone is interested
Il share the thoughts I have.
I hope Peggy is well and all you kids are rockin it.

Elvis, by all means share your thoughts and research concerning Sasquatch; there have been too many sightings, too many odd little pics and vids, not to mention all the footprints, for there not to be something happening...

jump on in, mate, the water is fine...

I came across this guys Blog purely by chance and was intrigued by its diverse and very well written content.
It seems the chap is an ex Vietnam vet, who moved his family up to Alaska to escape
the modern world.
While thumbing through the articles I found an unexpected Sasquatch story.

I recommend reading the whole thing in the link below to anyone interested in our big furry friend.

Heres a quick snippit.

"We saw a long line of these footprints, where they entered from the tree line and cut across the meadow towards a stand of trees.  The large footprints left a 2 inch deep impression in the muskeg, the smaller ones, about half that.  In comparison our own footprints lasted mere seconds before disappearing as the muskeg returned to it's normal state.  No matter how hard we tried, we couldn't get the muskeg to hold our footprints, yet there was the trail of these giant barefooted tracks!  Suddenly feeling like trespassers poaching on private lands, we agreed the hunt was done and headed down to the boat."

Here is the link to the article and Blog.
The guy is a talented story teller.

Enjoy

Elvis.

Hey, I'm not really into 'Bigfoot'.. Although I'm not not into him either, however I am interested in Alaska, and any Military OP's and bases, throughout the last century.

If you find anything like that, I'd be really interested.

         Portlock/Port Chatham Alaska

Portlock Alaska is located in a remote area of the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska. Named after Capt. Nathanial Portlock of the Royal Navy who landed there in 1787. A U.S. Post Office was opened at Portlock in 1921. While this was primarily a cannery town at that point, there was also Chromite mining nearby at the mining site known as Chrome. Portlock-Chatham Bay was also the site of a Territorial Boarding School for children from the surrounding smaller fish-camps, mines and villages. After a series of unexplained events and deaths, the town was suddenly abandoned around 1949.

Portlock began its existence sometime after the turn of the century as a cannery town. In 1921, a post office was established there, and for a time the residents, mostly natives of Russian-Aleut mix, lived in peace with their picturesque mountain-and-sea setting."

According to the Anchorage Daily News story, sometime in the beginning years of World War II, rumors began to seep along the Kenai Peninsula that things were not right in Portlock. Men from the cannery town would reportedly go up into the hills to hunt Dall sheep and bear, and never return. Worse yet, sometimes stories would circulate about mutilated bodies that were swept down into the lagoon, torn and dismembered in a way that bears could not, or would not, do.

"Tales were told of villagers tracking moose over soft ground. They would find giant, man-like tracks over 18 inches in length closing upon those of the moose, the signs of a short struggle where the grass had been matted down, then only the deep tracks of the manlike animal departing toward the high, fog-shrouded mountains ..."

The article goes on to tell how the fed-up townfolk decided to move en-masse, and by 1950, the U.S. Post office had closed there.

Malania Helen Kehl, Nanwalek's eldest resident in a recent article titled, Port Chatham Left to Spirits featured in the Homer Tribune recounts, "the ghostly story of how the village of Port Chatham came to be deserted; why the abandoned town was shunned, and those who once lived there vowed never to return."

According to the Homer Tribune article, "Malania was born Jan. 25, 1934 at Port Chatham, then a small village founded at the edge of a peaceful moorage... But when Malania was a baby, the family abruptly moved away from Chatham, leaving the house and every board of its frame behind."

"We left our houses and the school, and started all new here," Malania said in a recent interview, speaking in her traditional Sugt'stun through translator Sally Ash. "There was plentiful land here for gardening and people. My parents built a house on the beach."

What had frightened Malania's parents hadn't been a single event. Over a "long period of time," a nantiinaq (Nan-te-nuk) – or big hairy creature – was reportedly terrorizing villagers. And Malania also told of the spirit of a woman dressed in draping black clothes that would come out of the cliffs.

"Her dress was so long she would drag it," Malania said. "She had a very white face and would disappear back into the cliffs."

"The goose-bumped terror felt when people encountered these spirits was nothing compared to what happened to Malania's godfather, Andrew Kamluck. He was logging in 1931, when someone or something hit him over the head with a piece of log-moving equipment. The blow reportedly killed him instantly."

There are many more stories of strange happenings in this area. Beware if you visit.

The site is accessible only by boat or via bush-plane beach landing. Located near the head of Port Chatham just east of the abandoned mining town of Chrome. At present There is a fishing lodge operation near this site. It is reported that there remain mine tunnels, rusted cannery equipment and building foundations, and of course something strange in the hills.

That doesn't look like a real footprint, as it looks pressed vertically and not made by a foot of a moving creature.

There's plenty information just by going with the stories and the mystery, but I like to get all the answers I can, although most of the times I only get more questions. ;D

SURVIVORMAN BIGFOOT: A BRAND NEW 2-PART SPECIAL FOR SCIENCE CHANNEL US, DISCOVERY CHANNEL US, and TRAVEL & ESCAPE IN CANADA

During the making of Survivorman Alaska in 2009, SURVIVORMAN LES STROUD experienced his first possible Bigfoot encounter.

"The strangest thing happened...I was making my grass matt and all of a sudden a deep and very loud grunting noise about fifty yards away brought me to my feet and put the hairs up on the back of my neck. It repeated five times and I have to say it sounded...just like a large gorilla..."

Les acknowledged the experience, but didn't speak publicly about it until February 2011. In an interview with 93.3 KZOZ, hosts Jeff and Jeremy In The Morning asked if Les had ever had a Bigfoot encounter. Les unexpectedly opened up about his Alaskan encounter. "It sounded like a big ape, that's all I can tell ya'. The interview has been viewed over 250,000 times since.

This interview sparked thousands of Les Stroud fans from around the world to weigh in on the Bigfoot debate. Fans described their own Sasquatch encounters via email, letters and social media and demanded Les secure proof.

Overwhelmed by the response, Les has decided to uncover the truth. Joined by Bigfoot expert TODD STANDING, Les travels to two remote Bigfoot hot spots to debunk the myths that surround Bigfoot phenomena. TODD STANDING literally made international headlines with his incredible video footage and physical evidence of Bigfoot. Dozens of major networks and production companies have attempted to negotiate agreements with him. From the beginning, he has maintained his work is repeatable with the statement, "Don't take my word for it, come with me and I will show you first-hand the reality of this species."

For expeditions to yield any success, the search must be made by the most elite of wilderness experts who have the experience to film in the extreme conditions one can expect from the most remote locations.

Of the 7 billion people on the planet, only LES STROUD fits the criteria.

SURVIVORMAN BIGFOOT is a 2-part special airing on Travel & Escape Channel Wednesday, March 19th, 2014 at 10PM EST and Wednesday, March 26th, 2014 at 10PM EST. Discovery Channel US and Science Channel US have yet to release airdates. Stay tuned for more information.

Todd Standing – a new name in Bigfootery
by Sharon Hill • April 4, 2014 • 40 Comments
I hoped my days of digging into ugly Bigfoot business were done. I do not trust any "researcher" who finds footage and tries to make money off it. A new name you may not have heard of (but has been around a long while to us Inside Bigfoot-Baseball people) has appeared on the public scene mainly thanks to Les Stroud promoting the Bigfoot Survivorman show – Todd Standing. What does Standing have? Belief in spades and really, really poor footage that was released to the public. It's so bad, it's laughable.

But, he also has Jeff Meldrum to lend credibility as an accredited academic. Should you buy this new evidence as proof? No. Standing has been labeled "doubtful" by the Bigfooting community because of this and past footage. How can he explain the close-up stills when no one else can get such shots?

i agree with you ArMaP..
check this out

http://bigfootresearch.blogspot.com/2014/04/is-todd-standing-man-behind-mask.html

while i do believe there is something to bigfoot.. i don't hink anyone has what would be considered proof..
it's just like the ufo stuff

seeing is believing.. pictures lie
unless you have had some personal experience it is just another curiosity
i have talked to some who claim the experience and it only makes me more curious

Cool sky,
Your delving.
The standing  stuff.! Well is remarkable. And is it to good to be true.?

There is a history here.

Not just hoaxers and jokers.

It runs far deeper and far cleaner.

For me it's old and  cool.
But that's just me.

Peggy rules.
