US security increased: make sure your phone is charged before boarding a flight
Is the reason valid for making us charge our mobile devices before we board a flight....
They say its because terrorist could otherwise hide certain threatening things within the battery area...
Not all luggage can be 100% checked and that.. that is not hand luggage and goes in the aircraft luggage hold is less likely checked..so a uncharged device could just as easy be left in a suitcase with the luggage hold..
Or is it so that they can track us on arrival within what ever location we visit ?

Uncharged mobile ban goes global: Now phones and laptops will not be allowed on flights to destinations around world unless fully charged.

Considering all the terrorists the TSA has nabbed (ZERO) in over a decade of bodily assault with particles and hands... I have to guess this is for tracking purposes.
Once again making it a pain in the ass to travel.
I remember the good old days in the 1980s when you could literally run to your plane at the last minute, bags unchecked, carry on unchecked, your only care was what was being served for lunch.
Guess Ill have to drive or sail from here on out..I am perpetually the victim of a dead phone or tablet battery.
I went Heathrow to L.A. yesterday, and BA Check-In made me declare I had an iPhone, but nobody made me take it out and prove it was powered.
Strange, perhaps a soft roll-out.

Well it's a good thing laptops don't have any other sort of compartments like a hard drive compartment or a compartment where the RAM sticks are located. It's also a good thing all laptop cases are riveted shut. Why have they not yet banned shoes and underwear? ::)
