You asked, "How bad can things get"?
Depends upon your and everyone else's outlook. You and the rest of us could die from Ebola, so just where on the scale of "bad" does this disease fit? Of course, how many of us will die may depend upon how many Ebola patients are on purpose being migrated to other countries, as is being done in the U.S.
In my not too informed opinion, Ebola could rank even above Fukushima relative to potential world population deaths, if it is not contained and controlled. The past 14 Ebola outbreaks have "averaged" a 78.5% death rate from the same "Zaire strain. In some of the outbreaks the rate was up to 90%. Here is a link to a chart of past Ebola outbreaks, with various specific data points.

Here is another article that does discuss Ebola on the basis of known fact.

Rdunk, didn't you post this yesterday?

Yes I did. But now I think I should have just subject-titled my OP "Ebola - A Very Deadly Disease", as we likely will have numerous points of information to discuss on this subject as it progresses.
You might consider combining these posts, and giving it a general title, such as I mentioned, or as you think best. However is fine with me.
Actually, since I have had no replies to my post, I just posted my reply here on the subject to help Astr0144's efforts. :)
Hi Rdunk,
Sorry I missed your post...Thks seeker for pointing it out... that was a very concerning title you posted with some potential very major things to have to consider...
I meant to try to post about it a few days ago...
So Much bad poop around... some things just get overlooked even though they may be some of the worst possible situations...at times I am sure we just overlook things and are too depressed about some of it to want to post and make us aware...not everyone wants such info to have to consider...
From what I am led to believe, yes this could be possibly one of the very worst situations if it does become a deliberate act to expose the world to it without any control..
Looking at another Alex Jones video...one of his guest comments that he believes that it is being done as another scare type tactic... similar to previous threats like swine flu...
Lets hope that is all it is for all our sake's...as I am sure if they wanted to do so .. they could wipe us all out very quickly with Ebola...
see from 14mins 45 secs...what his guest has to say...

It could also be they want us all to take their vaccines....but as far as I am aware there is no cure !
I think Jon Rappaport has it right. From: http://jonrappoport.wordpress.com/2014/07/31/is-it-ebola-or-is-it-psychological-warfare/

Now that the world has been put on notice about Ebola, it's time to try facts instead of scare tactics.
The World Health Organization (WHO) is the primary reporting agency on case numbers and deaths. Taking their stats with a few grains of salt, but recognizing that mainstream accounts come from WHO, here is their July 25 update, "Ebola Virus Disease, West Africa":
1201 total cases. 672 deaths. These numbers cover Guinea, Sierra Leone, and Liberia—the Ebola focus areas.
Looking a little deeper, we see that WHO divides each number into categories: "confirmed," "probable," and "suspected."
Diagnostic methods for IDing Ebola in those 3 countries are uncertain. Therefore, we should only consider the category labeled "confirmed," and even then we should have doubts.
So let's look at the total for confirmed Ebola case numbers in those countries.
It's 814.
Confirmed number of deaths? 456.
Now consider another WHO report. This one is titled: "Influenza (Seasonal) World Health Organization," dated April 2009.
It's the WHO fact sheet on regular seasonal flu, the kind that is said to infect people globally, year after year, like clockwork.
Ready?
Annual number of severe cases: 3-5 million.
Annual number of deaths: between 250,000 and 500,000.
Remember, that's every year—not a one-time shot.
When it comes to seasonal regular flu, the World Health Organization issues no scare reports, no dire warnings, and the press mentions nothing. Zero.
However, with 814 confirmed cases and 456 deaths from Ebola, the whole world is put on notice.
We hear about possible travel restrictions. In the US, portable disease-diagnosing machines have been passed out out to many local communities. There are murmurs about detaining people who may have come in contact with somebody who may have Ebola.
Something is very wrong here. Something is upside down.
power outside the matrix
If you set aside the images and fear-mongering of the press, you begin to see this is a propaganda operation, there is a selective process at work—what disease to promote, what disease to ignore.
Imagine what would happen if WHO released a statement in which it substituted "Ebola" for "regular seasonal flu":
"There are 3 to five million cases of Ebola worldwide. Between 250,000 and 500,000 people are dead."
The world would go crazy.
But again, there ARE 3 to 5 million cases, every year, of regular seasonal flu, and according to WHO, between 250,000 and 500,000 people die from it.
And the world does nothing.
People would respond, "Oh, but you see, Ebola is different. People hemorrhage. They bleed out and die. It's horrible."
Now we're talking about the process of dying, as if that really matters.
And, with flu, when people die, they often drown in their own mucus. Is that vivid enough to rank alongside Ebola?
Ebola is a propaganda operation.
Choices are being made: what to emphasize, what to ignore, what to use in order to invoke fear.
Producing fear, one way or another, is a standard element in exerting top-down control over the population.
When people are afraid, they're compliant, they're obedient to authority.
And that's the agenda.

just for arguments sake, is it not curious that for the last 5 weeks the tv show "the last ship" has been running?
a show about a world wide pandemic that resembles ebola?

Ebola, flouride, GMOs, etc......while visiting my mother in law yesterday, she in her proud repuklican duty had CNN running on the boob tube the whole time...muted thank goodness....and there were three stories constantly scrolling and being repeated over and over again for four hours....Israel/Hamas' insane war of religion, the shot down war plane in Ukraine...and Ebola coming to the US.
Good freekin grief!
The problem here is programmed mass media mindsets who regurgitate the pablum to those stupid enough to swallow it.
Ask an Aussie, with probably a thousand ways to die or be eaten in their nation, how frightening Ebola is. Ill take a chance with Ebola over a rabid wallaby, or pissed off platypus anytime.
Sheep will always sidle up to the trough, and repukes and dumbocrats alike are both dishing out the corn on a daily basis......if one chooses to eat it, they deserve to fall prey to the scare tactics.
Im with Seeker...whats so scary about meatsuit expiration anyways? some days I think.......please...bring it.
Cheers, and back to your regularly scheduled programming.....

Today, the Portuguese health authority published a document explaining what they are doing, and one thing they say is possible is the repatriation of infected Portuguese citizens. They also said that they do not expect any cases in Portugal, as the flights are controlled, but if there are any cases they are prepared to detect them and act accordingly.
PS: in Portugal people cannot be forcibly hospitalized or treated, that happened some years ago with a woman suspected of being infected with H1N1 that didn't want to go to the hospital. She did go to hospital on the next day, and she wasn't infected.
