QuoteWhen a Pennsylvania woman claimed to see a UFO above her house, you couldn't be blamed for thinking she'd just imagined it.
But when local police responded to her call, they saw it too – and were just as mystified.
Stephanie Wilkerson said she was relaxing on a porch when she spotted a giant circle of flashing lights in the dark skies over her home.
.....
And when an officer arrived he couldn't explain the dancing lights either – so he called two of his colleagues.
'He went there and apparently he saw them, too, so he called his sergeant and his corporal to come and verify what he was seeing,' said Lieutenant Gary Seefeldt.
Officers did the sensible thing and called nearby airports and military bases, but they didn't have an explanation

that's on the other end of the state from me...
the other night I had just stepped inside when hubby yells..
hey something just came down on the garage..
I ran out
he said it's outside the fence
so around the garage we went
dang..just a Chinese lantern...
and nothing else in sight
sigh :(
At least you have the Chinese lantern, so you know you're not imagining things.

Wonder how many of those little quad-rotor RC drones have been used to fake UFO sightings over the last few years? Used at night decked out with strobing LED's I am sure I could have a good many people running to the phone to report seeing a UFO.

Probably more than a few, Ellirium; but then again, a sighting such as I had that involved a silent black triangle a couple hundred feet long will tend to tip you past the point of no return...
and very hard for a hoaxer to prevaricate 8)
there will always be those cases that are hoaxes, others will be mis-identification of normal mundane crafrt, and then there are those that can't be explained...

I have to say that the thinking behind this, does potentially suggest it could account for many and make future sightings difficult as to what may be drone or other real type UFO ones...
With so many drone designs around now... I think the future could start to have even more reported sightings...
