Why do people insist on posting paragraph after paragraph after paragraph after paragraph Of other peoples work? I might read something that long if you actually wrote it yourself. But probably not. Try a link to the originator and let me decide if I want to waste my time.
Thank you
Rock
Not only that, those posts do not follow the Pegasus Copyright rules (http://www.thelivingmoon.com/forum/index.php?topic=176.0).
By some people with responsibilities on this forum that should know better!

Should this discussion be in "Rants and Beefs"?? Bahawahahahahaha :)
FWIW, I do really try to do what is suggested here when I post info from elsewhere - post some informational amount of what is important from the article, and provide link for "more". I did post a full article today on Ebola stuff, because it was so briefly complete. And, then I included the link. :)
I do agree with the thought of this OP! I suppose if there was anticipated risk of it getting deleted at the original source, and it it was a significant piece of data, enough to be concerned, then maybe we should have an Admin consideration process here for how to handle it??
As an Admin, I didn't consider it a rant or beef, but a Notice. ;D
"did....not" consider...........?? :)
Hey Rock, I did not know that you were now an Admin! I thought you were still one of the "regular" guys and girls! Just never know do we!
Well, since you mentioned "notice" - shouldn't forum notices be in the Board Business" forum board? :)
Your probably right but I'm new at this. ;D
Not a big deal! Either way communicates the thought.

That's why they created the Internet Archive. :)
I suggest summarising the article, quote the crucial paragraph (or abstract if a science paper), maybe post a picture if you can be bothered and obviously the link to your source.
The purpose of posting is to trigger a discussion so that should be enough.
I have very rarely posted large sections but there was a good reason in each case.
One thing I don't like is where the author is not easy to identify. I know from personal experience how annoying and disappointing it is to read your own work on the web without getting credit.
